In 2025, Idea Factory International plans to launch the roguelike RPG “Death end re;Quest Code Z” on PC through Steam, as revealed by the publishing company.
Initially, Death end re;Quest Code Z was released on September 19, 2024, in Japan, and later on May 13, 2025, in the western regions, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

What is the Death end re;Quest series?
An exhilarating role-playing game where a band of youths navigate a world contaminated by bugs, constantly facing death in their quest to unravel mysteries and encounter peril. It is authored by Makoto Kedouin, a renowned author known for his dark narrative in Corpse Party.
In 2018 for Japan and 2019 for North America and Europe, the initial game of the Death end re;Quest series debuted on PlayStation 4. A year later in 2020, its follow-up title, Death end re;Quest 2, was made available on PlayStation 4 across Japan, North America, and Europe.
Story
Step into a tale of parallel universes…
Iris hails from a world identical to Earth in the early 2000s, referred to as World DE-1. Her arrival sparked a chain reaction of unfortunate events that eventually became untangled thanks to the diligent work of Arata Mizunashi and his colleagues.
After mending her relationships, Iris duplicated the World DE-1 and named it World DE-1.5. There, conflicts transformed into friendships, everyone functioning harmoniously like gears in a well-oiled machine within an ideal world. However, a fresh predicament is looming over the tranquility…
As a devoted admirer, I find myself compelled to share an intriguing revelation: A figure shrouded in enigma has stepped into the limelight, accompanied by a band of individuals who bear an uncanny resemblance to our previous legendary heroes. - You Keep on Walking and You Don’t Look Back – Your biggest challenge awaits at the bottom of each dungeon. Get ready to test your limits as you must fight a powerful boss. Once the boss is defeated, it’s time to save your friend and try to make it out of the Strain Area alive, your new companion in tow.
- Bring it Around Town! – Between trips to the Strain Area, make sure to take a break at home where you can stock up on invaluable items, head to the Night Owl Cafe to enhance your weapons, or check in on friends around town.
