Ryan Phillippe is a straight shooter.

Speaking about collaborating with his son Deacon Phillippe, whom he shares with his former wife Reese Witherspoon, on his latest series “Motorheads”, Ryan gladly reveals the whole experience.

He expressed amazement to Will Marfuggi from TopMob News during the May 13 premiere of the Amazon Prime Video series. He explained that the head writer suggested he play this role, and instead of taking control, he said, ‘Feel free to propose it to him, see what he thinks.’ He didn’t want to impose on anyone.

What’s the young man’s part in this storyline? He portrays Ryan’s on-screen sibling in flashback sequences. The actor from “Cruel Intentions” acknowledged that this role felt a bit unusual, to put it mildly.

Ryan, who is a father to Ava Phillippe, 25, with Reese, and Kai Knapp, 13, with ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp, found it really interesting. They got the chance to chat with the showrunner about their childhood experiences, which is quite unusual for a father and son to talk about. Ryan shared, “During his initial night shoot, I was there with him. Interestingly, we were living in the same house in Toronto for the duration – an experience that’s quite unusual when your children have left for college. It was truly a special moment.

As a die-hard fan, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and relaxation when my favorite actor, the brilliant alumnus from Shooter, stepped onto set for the first time. Instead of fretting over every detail, I confidently let my son take the reins, knowing he was more than capable of delivering an outstanding performance.

He expressed his trust in him. Moreover, since they’ve spent their childhood on film sets, this experience isn’t entirely foreign to them. Yet, it was incredibly amazing for him to be involved in this particular project.

Despite both Deacon and Ava venturing into the realm of acting, they each establish clear boundaries regarding viewing their parents’ performances.
