As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that id Software’s DOOM: The Dark Ages is now globally available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms! To top it off, this masterpiece is accessible through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. To celebrate its success, a trailer showcasing critical acclaim has been released – you can watch it below!
Occurring at an unspecified time prior to DOOM (2016), DOOM: The Dark Ages unfolds the tale of the Doom Slayer on Argent D’Nur. Under the orders of the Maykrs and collaborating with the Night Sentinels, he engages in combat against the hordes of Hell, led by Prince Ahzrak. The campaign is expansive, boasting 22 levels that showcase the largest game spaces crafted by the developer so far.
In contrast to the extensive aerial battles in DOOM Eternal, The Dark Ages equips the Slayer with a versatile tool called the Shield Saw. This allows him to deflect enemy attacks and projectiles, throw it like Captain America’s shield for rebounding off adversaries, pin tougher enemies to stun them, and much more. Additionally, there are melee options such as the gauntlet, flail, mace, and numerous new weapons at your disposal.
As a die-hard gamer, I highly recommend you check out my review for DOOM: The Dark Ages right here! I’ve given it a well-deserved 9/10, thanks to its incredible combat and stunning visuals. However, the creators, id Software, have acknowledged some known issues on PC that they plan to fix in the future. Keep an eye out for further updates! And if you’re as excited as I am, there’s even Campaign DLC in the works, so stay tuned for more info!
