Fairgames, One of Sony’s Last Live-Service PS5 Games, Loses Studio Founder Amid Internal Worries

According to a recent Bloomberg report, Jade Raymond, who founded Haven Studio (a Fairgames developer), has decided to part ways with the company, as confirmed by Sony.

The specific cause behind her leaving wasn’t disclosed to the media, but it’s rumored that it occurred a few weeks following the studio’s external testing of its PS5 live-service game. According to reports, there are concerns about how the game was perceived during the test and the project’s progress.

According to a statement made by Sony to Bloomberg, Jade Raymond has been a remarkable collaborator and creative powerhouse in establishing Haven Studios. We are immensely thankful for her guidance and efforts, and we extend our warmest wishes to her as she embarks on her new journey.

PlayStation expressed their dedication to backing Haven Studios and shared their eagerness to carry on this venture, as they move forward with the project’s title.

Jade Raymond is primarily recognized for her work at Ubisoft where she contributed significantly to the development of the original Assassin’s Creed and Watch Dogs games. Since then, however, she hasn’t been involved with a studio that has launched any new game since Star Wars Battlefront 2 in 2017.

The news stirs up additional queries about Sony’s shift towards the live-service sector over the past few years. While Helldivers 2 unexpectedly thrived, Concord immediately flopped and several projects from traditional single-player developers under PlayStation, initially planned as Game-as-a-Service, were cancelled – including rumored God of War spin-offs. Fairgames, one of the few titles remaining from this live-service initiative, is currently scheduled for release in 2026 following a delay this year.
