Michael J. Fox is going back to the small screen.

Five years have passed since the star of “Back to the Future” has been absent from acting, but now he’s making a comeback to Tinseltown, appearing in the forthcoming third season of the humorous series on Apple TV+ titled “Shrinking”.

The 63-year-old posted on Instagram, ‘Big emotions ahead,’ alongside a post with the streamer from May 15. It has been announced that Michael J. Fox will appear as a guest star in season 3 of the show Shrinking.

In the upcoming show, specifics about Michael’s part are not yet known, but it revolves around Jason Segel’s character Jimmy. He is a therapist working alongside Harrison Ford and Jessica Williams as Paul and Gaby, as they all cope with life after Jimmy becomes a single father to his teenage daughter following the unexpected passing of his wife. The combination of sadness and humor in this series was developed by Jason, Brett Goldstein from Ted Lasso, and Bill Lawrence, who previously collaborated with Michael on the ’90s sitcom Spin City.

For Michael, who made his Parkinson’s diagnosis known in 1998, starring in Shrinking in 2026 will signify his first on-screen role since his stint on the CBS drama The Good Fight in 2020. This return to television is undoubtedly something he looks forward to, as he has often expressed his passion for acting.
