During an interview with Mariel Molino and Austin Stowell, who play Special Agent Cecilia “Lala” Dominguez and Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the prequel series NCIS: Origins, they were asked which characters from the original NCIS they’d like to see appear in future seasons. Molino suggested, “It would be great if a younger DiNozzo could make an appearance.” Stowell agreed and added, “We could use some humor around here, so perhaps a young Ziva would be fun as well.

Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo played the fan-loved characters Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo and Special Agent Ziva David on NCIS. They were pivotal figures in the show, with a long-lasting romantic subplot and leading roles in significant storylines.
