How to Enter the Elderwood

To explore the fresh Elderwood region, here’s what I recommend: Head towards the far northwest corner of Bahari Bay. You’ll find it nestled right in the B2 quadrant on your map. Once you reach that point, you’ll come across a massive door waiting to be opened, and voila! You’ve found your way into the new region.

It’s important to mention that the creators have a preferred sequence of story missions they advise completing first. This is so you can fully immerse yourself in the Elderwood main storyline and access its advanced features. Here’s the list of quests you should tackle initially:

As a fellow enthusiast, let me share some exciting news! In Elderwood, you’ll notice a collection of Guide quests marked on your map. It’s highly advisable to tackle these quests right away because they serve as tutorials for the unique mechanics and features specific to this region. Enjoy the journey!

Do note, however, the Night Sky Bundles aren’t necessary for progression in the Elderwood region.

Unlock the Stables!

In addition to what we’ve previously discussed, one crucial task when exploring Elderwood is locating all the stables scattered throughout the region. There are a total of 5 stables here, and once you engage with each one, Fast Travel across the entire region will become available. Moreover, completing this task rewards you with the Stables Sign recipe!

In simpler terms, you can create the Stables Sign at your personal workstation and position it within your own area. This sign serves as a teleportation point that allows you to quickly travel directly from your plot to the Central Stables in various regions like the Elderwood, without having to go through the usual routing.

Collect the Infected Essence

As you delve deeper into Elderwood, you’ll come across a valuable resource: the Tainted Energy. Typically, it appears as hovering violet orbs, similar to the one depicted here. You’ll need this Tainted Energy for various purposes in Elderwood, including purchasing items from Tamala’s Shop.

Besides trees and animals, the purple Infected Essence can also encompass these targets. At first, you won’t be able to harvest from them, but you will learn how during the “The Nature of Shadows” main mission. It is strongly suggested that you complete this quest as soon as possible!

Artifacts and Relics

As you delve into the Elderwood region in Palia, one crucial aspect to grasp is the recently introduced system of artifacts and relics.

Artifacts are primarily discovered by digging through daily-generated heap piles, often obtained through looting. However, it’s important to note that the Elderwood’s heap piles differ from those in other regions since they can only be excavated with a Fine Hoe. Keep an eye on your Artifact Tracker for easy detection of these piles!

Besides searching through the cluttered heaps, another way to find Artifacts is by presenting Sacred Blossoms at the scattered Umbraan Shrines located throughout the area.

If you come across Artifacts, swap them with Elouisa at Elderwood Central Stables to receive Elouisa’s Fun Bucks. Later on, you can exchange these fun bucks back at the Central Stables to obtain blueprints for Mystical Items (or simply Relics).

Relics serve as a fresh category of gear that automatically enhances you and all members in your team. These items offer beneficial effects that significantly aid in regional exploration, including enabling you to trace infectious resources or communicate directly with the infected without requiring specialized equipment. We strongly advise utilizing them for your adventures!
