Last night, Doctor Who graced our screens before the live airing of the Eurovision Song Contest with panache, presenting its unique interpretation – The Cosmic Sing-Off or Intergalactic Music Competition.
This particular installment stood out in several ways. Apart from its intriguing topic and appearances by stars such as Rylan and Graham Norton, it also contained some shocking previews for the upcoming episode, “Wish World,” marking the beginning of the two-part season finale next week.
As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that the viewership numbers for “The Interstellar Song Contest” have been officially verified! It’s mind-blowing to know that over 2.6 million of us tuned in to witness this galactic event on our screens.
As a movie aficionado, I must say that last night’s episode has undoubtedly been the standout of the season so far. It managed to surpass the viewership numbers of our previous ratings champion, “The Robot Revolution,” which attracted an impressive 2 million viewers. Needless to say, this latest episode has truly captivated audiences!
Among all programs aired that day, it ranked as the third most popular, trailing behind BBC One’s broadcast of the FA Cup Final and their coverage of Eurovision.

The data presented here is not combined yet and does not encompass BBC iPlayer. However, iPlayer views at 8am on Saturday preceding its BBC One broadcast were recorded. A consolidated figure, which accounts for catch-up viewings and different devices, will be disclosed during the week starting Monday, May 26th.
In the upcoming episode of Doctor Who, we find that traps have been set, and age-old adversaries join forces. As the Doctor and Belinda eventually return home, they encounter a drastically changed world. Will the Doctor discern the truth before midnight strikes?
On Saturday, 31st May, you’ll have a chance to watch both that particular episode and its sequel, “The Reality War,” in movie theaters, similar to how the season 14 two-part finale was screened.
Additionally, we can anticipate the reappearance of the antagonist Conrad, portrayed by Jonah Hauer-King, who was previously featured this season.
Previously, Ruby Sunday star Millie Gibson announced her return with these words: “Jonah will indeed be making a comeback – the fight isn’t over yet.
Upon his return, it was revealed that Russell T Davies had penned another exceptional script, which came as no surprise. As I too returned, I found myself once more in the company of the Doctor and Belinda, brought to life by actress Varada Sethu.
On Saturday, 24th May, the next installment of Doctor Who will air. In the United Kingdom, you can watch new episodes beginning at 8am every Saturday on BBC iPlayer, with rebroadcasts on BBC One later in the day. For those outside of the UK, the series is accessible on Disney+.
