The popular mangas, Gintama and Sakamoto Days, have teamed up for a fantastic crossover event to mark the release of the latest volume of Sakamoto Days in bookstores. Sakamoto Days has been gaining momentum in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, and its popularity skyrocketed following the successful premiere of its anime adaptation on Netflix earlier this year. As fans eagerly anticipate the next season of episodes due out later this Summer, manga enthusiasts in Japan are also looking forward to the arrival of the next installment of Sakamoto Days on store shelves. Notably, even some of Shonen Jump’s well-known creators are excited about the upcoming volume too!
Gintama and Sakamoto Days have a rich history of humor, with Gintama’s series creator Hideaki Sorachi once sketching his characters in the assassin-filled world of Sakamoto Days. Now, the roles are reversed, as to express gratitude for Sorachi’s comments, creator Yuto Suzuki of Sakamoto Days has introduced his characters into the eccentric universe of Gintama.
