During the weekend, developer ChillyRoom unveiled No Such Place, a thrilling top-down game focusing on exploration through portals during reconnaissance missions. Based on the trailer released yesterday, it seems
No Such Place looks like a top-down rogue-lite Stalker with dimensional travel
Indie game studio ChillyRoom has unveiled various games in recent years, such as Otherworld Legends, a top-down rogue-like brawler, and the popular mobile game Soul Knight, which blends roguelike mechanics with survival and shoot ’em up genres. From the looks of it, their latest game, No Such Place, seems to have a distinct atmosphere that could appeal to fans of the Stalker series. Unlike their other titles that are generally bright and colorful, the trailer for No Such Place suggests a darker, more shadowy, apocalyptic tone.
Intrigued by the trailer’s pixelated charm, I find myself captivated by the unique character styles on display. At times, it seems like our player is geared up for a hazardous mission in a full hazmat suit, while in other instances, they appear battle-ready. This variation in attire has me speculating whether certain dimensions or portals necessitate specific preparations before venturing into them. Each world comes with its own time constraint, and once the clock runs out, it starts to disintegrate. So gather your supplies swiftly, and remember, survival is paramount in this game.
Based on the trailer preview, it seems that in addition to intense shooter gameplay involving hordes of creatures emerging from the shadows, there appear to be aspects of inventory management and RPG elements for ability enhancement. Reminiscent of games like Stalker, items are presented in a grid format, occupying different amounts of space. Each weapon has multiple customizable slots where players can modify components such as the scope, magazine, stock, muzzle, and underbarrel. Upgrades, with an RPG-like feel, seem to originate from a handheld device. Players can expect to boost not only their physical abilities but also combat strategies and more. However, it’s challenging to gather all the specifics solely from this trailer.
At the moment, we’re in a position where we need to be patient to discover more about the intriguing title, “No Such Place“. It appears to offer an engaging, tough, raw survival horror adventure with numerous systems to handle and optimize. If this sounds appealing, don’t forget to save it on your Steam wishlist. This is a fantastic method of demonstrating your growing enthusiasm for their game. Moreover, it might be worth registering for the playtest. When I applied, I was given access right away, so there’s a good chance you’ll experience the same.
