The billion-dollar hit movie known as Zootropolis in other parts and Zootopia in the US is now gearing up for its sequel, with the unveiling of the Zootropolis 2 trailer. This exciting sneak peek showcases both new and familiar faces, including rookie cops Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman). The trailer also hints at a new partnership with a secretive pit viper character, Gary De’Snake, voiced by Ke Huy Quan.
Judy and Nick unwittingly stumble into a massive enigma when Gary De’Snake makes his entrance in Zootropolis, causing chaos throughout the city. In order to solve this puzzle, they are compelled to disguise themselves and venture into uncharted districts of the metropolis, where their bond as partners is pushed to its limits.
As per Disney Animation’s chief creative officer and director, Jared Bush, who also penned the script, fans can anticipate an enlarged universe. “We are overjoyed to invite everyone back to the boisterous, sprawling animal metropolis of Zootropolis, and lead audiences on a side-splitting, exhilarating adventure into areas of the city we haven’t explored before,” said Bush. “From the marshlands inhabited by semi-aquatic creatures, the expansive desert dunes to even more secrets waiting to be unveiled, our protagonists, Judy and Nick, will encounter numerous new acquaintances, learn more about the world, themselves, and a fresh serpent in town.
Byron Howard commented, “The trailer includes the track ‘ZUTU’ by the renowned lemming techno group, LEMEEENS from Zootropolis. These musicians, Hans-Peter, Gūnther, Spielt, and their DJ, Spaß, have recently toured with star Gazelle, opening for her. They created this song especially to celebrate the return of Zootropolis’ city life!
Directed by the Academy Award-winning duo Jared Bush and Byron Howard, along with producer Yvett Merino, “Zootropolis 2” boasts a star-studded cast including Fortune Feimster, Quinta Brunson, and Shakira reprising her role as Gazelle.
