Miley Cyrus Reveals Why She’s Stepping Back from Fans: The Shocking Truth!

It’s tough to have the best of both worlds—just ask Miley Cyrus.

In essence, the former star of “Hannah Montana” feels that her connection with fans has significantly changed following her departure from Disney Channel and her transition into a more adult-oriented musical phase.

In an exclusive interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, as reported by TopMob News, Miley described her teenage self as someone who was “open and approachable to everyone,” saying, “This shift allows my audience to experience a connection that they might not have had every day through their TV screens.

She went on to say, “Back then, when you were young, you used to watch Hannah Montana, and if you wanted to listen to my music, I was always there for you to hear.

But now, according to the 32-year-old, it all feels different.

Miley mentioned that during her youth, being on television and traveling made certain things more accessible for her. She also noted that the media landscape was distinct back then.

Indeed, this is the reason behind the deep admiration the artist known as “Flowers” singer holds towards her partner in the song “II Most Wanted,” Beyoncé. Her ability to manage the glare of the public eye throughout the years has truly earned her respect.

She noted that she and Beyoncé are quite distinct. To her fans, Beyoncé is more like a queen, or a nurturing figure, a mother to the world.

In her words, Miley referred to the Destiny’s Child member as “someone akin to a divine figure.” She added, “There’s an air of regality about her that has always made me feel a nurturing sense, much like a mother figure.

However, it doesn’t mean that Miley (the actress who played Hannah Montana from 2006 to 2011) expresses any regrets about being on TV. On the contrary, she has acknowledged before that the character of Hannah Montana shaped “Miley” in numerous ways.

2024 saw her graciously accepting a Disney Legend award with a heartfelt statement: “I’m as proud as ever to have been ‘Hannah Montana,'” she shared. “This honor is a tribute to Hannah, our incredible fans, and everyone who made my dream become a reality.

Miley added, “To quote the legend herself, ‘This is the life.’”

In 2019, Parton explained on SiriusXM’s “Just Jenny” that she and Miley seemed to connect instantly because they both grew up in rural areas. They enjoyed reminiscing about their shared experiences, she added. Later, when Miley entered the scene, Parton affectionately declared her as her goddaughter-to-be. Notably, Parton later appeared on “Hannah Montana” as the title character’s fairy godmother.

4. Miley became determined to build a career in showbiz after watching a performance of “Mamma Mia!” with her father, who later shared with the Toronto Star that she excitedly exclaimed, “‘This is my dream, Dad. I want to become an actress.’

5. She made her acting debut on Billy Ray’s PAX TV series Doc.

At the age of 11, Miley tried out for the Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana”. Initially, producers felt she was too young, but after a thorough six-month audition process involving more than 1,000 actresses, executives decided to reconsider Miley, who was now 12 years old.

Gary Marsh, who was Disney’s president at the time, recounted to USA Today in 2007 that she stood before them and left quite an impact. He recalled returning to his desk later that night and penning a note to his team, “Either this is something extraordinary or it wasn’t our lucky day.” As it turns out, the gamble he made has paid off in ways we could never have foreseen.

During a 2020 conversation with Hilary Duff on her Instagram Live program, “Bright Minded,” Miley Cyrus revealed that she was motivated to audition for the role of Hannah due to her character as Lizzie McGuire.)

In her 2009 memoir, Miles to Go, Miley described a competitive dynamic between us, which is common among girls, and we were no different. She admitted that she wished to resolve it, but was unsure of how to do so. She shared that she got along better with boys than girls at the time. However, they eventually managed to become friends, with Miley stating that it took them some time to find a rhythm. They both needed to learn to be considerate of each other’s feelings.

Following the conclusion of the series in 2011, and with the 2009 cinema adaptation of “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” Miley shared her personal struggle with self-discovery.

She shared with Howard Stern in 2020 that some members of her audience became deeply attached to a character that wasn’t her. This led to questions about her self-worth, as she reflected on the show’s premise: people didn’t care for her when she looked like herself, but they did when she was glamorized with a wig. This was a heavy burden for her, considering the message was that being herself wasn’t valued, while being transformed into something else garnered attention. The transformation, which involved makeup, wigs, and other alterations at such a young age, had a profound psychological impact on her.

11. Miley first laid eyes on her boyfriend Nick Jonas at a charity function in 2006, when they were both 13. From the moment they met, they instantly became a couple, as Miley shared with Seventeen magazine in 2008. “He was determined to meet me,” she said, “and he told me, ‘I think you’re stunning and I really like you.’ And I replied, ‘Wow, I adore you so much.’

Following a clandestine relationship, the couple parted ways, and Miley openly shared that she wept continuously for an entire month following their separation. She confided to the magazine, “Nick and I had deep feelings for one another. We still do, but our love was complex. He was my constant companion for two years, but it was challenging to maintain secrecy. We were often at odds, and it wasn’t enjoyable.

Drawing from my personal experience with Nick, I penned down the breakup anthem “7 Things.” Interestingly enough, I wore his gifted necklace in the music video for this 2008 hit single. Our brief reconciliation in 2009 served as inspiration for The Jonas Brothers’ ballad “Before the Storm,” a song that featured me as well.

In the year 2009 during the filming of “The Last Song“, Miley Cyrus started dating her co-star, Liam Hemsworth. Their relationship had its ups and downs for a whole decade before they tied the knot in 2018. However, eight months later, they announced their separation, leading to their divorce in 2020.

14. Later on, Miley confessed that the distress caused by the loss of their home in Malibu during the 2018 California wildfires was the primary factor influencing her to marry the actor from “The Hunger Games” following a two-year engagement.

Reflecting back on 2020, I shared a profound story on The Howard Stern Show. My partner and I have been inseparable since our teenage years, 16 to be exact. Tragedy struck us when our home in Malibu was engulfed in flames. Although we weren’t officially married, the loss of our house brought a new perspective to our relationship. In those trying times, all I had left were the memories of our shared past and my partner. My love for him has always been deep and unwavering – then, now, and forever will be.

She expressed surprise by saying, “It turns out I ended up marrying him, which is quite unexpected.” To avoid appearing unattractive, she had fibbed about her past relationships.

16′. Not long after her separation from Liam became public, Miley gained attention when she started a rapid-fire relationship with alum of ‘The Hills: New Beginnings’, Kaitlynn Carter. However, the pair parted ways just two months later, with Kaitlynn acknowledging that the intense public interest in their romance contributed to their breakup.

She acknowledged on The Viall Files podcast in June 2020 that we had made every effort to maintain privacy, but ultimately, things are what they are. It’s incredibly challenging to navigate a breakup under public scrutiny…it can be brutal. However, there are also valuable lessons and growth opportunities in such experiences.

17. In the year 2016, Miley openly identified as pansexual, confessing to Variety that she had trouble grasping her gender and sexual orientation during her childhood years.

She clarified to the media that she has never been comfortable with the term ‘bisexual’. For her, labeling herself as such feels confining because she doesn’t categorize people based on their gender. She added that her nipple pasties and other aspects of her life have never felt sexualized to her. It was around the fifth or sixth grade when she began to understand her feelings more clearly. Her first romantic relationship was with a woman. Growing up, she came from a deeply religious family in the South.

18. In 2017, Miley claimed she was the inspiration for Katy Perry‘s hit song “I Kissed a Girl.”

21. For six years, Miley followed a vegan diet but later changed to a pescatarian lifestyle due to health issues she mentioned on The Joe Rogan Experience in 2020. 22. Although “Party in the U.S.A.” is one of Miley’s biggest hits, the artist herself isn’t particularly fond of the popular tune. She admitted in a 2019 video that she dislikes it, yet for some reason, the public seems to adore it.

23. In 2013, a petition was published on the official “We the People” page of the White House’s website, proposing that President Barack Obama replace the US national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” with Miley Cyrus’s song “Party in the U.S.A.

24. At first, Miley Cyrus was scheduled to voice a character in the 2021 animated film “Hotel Transylvania,” but she announced on Twitter in 2019 that she had been let go after buying her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth a cake shaped like a penis for his birthday and playfully licking it. (She was subsequently replaced by Selena Gomez.)

In 2010, Miley Cyrus’s squeaky clean Disney persona took a turn as an iconic video emerged showing her smoking from a bong. Fast forward to ten years later, Miley humorously acknowledged this infamous event on Instagram.

10-year anniversary to the pioneering video of a teenager using a bong and making foolish remarks with companions, she penned. (Although it’s debatable whether the film’s director qualifies as one of the companions, but…)

Instead of getting angry with herself, she suggested self-inquiry by asking, “Why did this happen?” rather than becoming upset.

29. Miley clarified that the passing of musicians, such as Amy Winehouse, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain, prompted her to reassess her connection with alcohol.

She stated, “For me, the year twenty-seven held significant importance as it required a lot of self-protection. This experience actually sparked my desire to live soberly. You see, many influential figures have succumbed at the age of twenty-seven, making it a critical period in life. It’s a time when one transitions into a new phase or it marks the end of their journey. I believe some artists struggled to manage their own power, energy, and influence, which is like an energy source. I, on the other hand, was born with that.

30. During her journey from Colombia to Paraguay for the 2022 Asuncionico music festival in March 2022, Miley’s plane had an unexpected landing due to being hit by lightning. Later, she confessed that the experience left her feeling somewhat shaken or distressed.
