From the time the first Mission: Impossible movie debuted in 1996, a variety of characters both friend and foe have been added to the cast alongside Tom Cruise’s character Ethan Hunt from the IMF. These include recurring figures like Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn and Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, as well as formidable adversaries such as Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Owen Davian.
However, throughout the course of the franchise (set to conclude with the upcoming film The Final Reckoning), it’s hard to find a character more captivating than Rebecca Ferguson’s portrayal of Ilsa Faust.
In the fifth movie, Rogue Nation, the character who was once an MI6 agent and later joined the IMF team, was initially presented as a covert operative. This individual gained massive popularity with further appearances in Fallout and Dead Reckoning. Unfortunately, in the latter film, Dead Reckoning, she met a tragic end, being brutally murdered by the canals of Venice.
The demise of the character sparked an overwhelming display of sorrow from fans, with many wishing for a more satisfying conclusion. Some even clung to hope that she may reappear in the following movie.

Alas, it was not to be, and it turns out Ilsa Faust really did die in Venice.
Even though the late great Tom Cruise wasn’t physically present during the production of Mission: Impossible 6, we, the cast, maintained regular communication with him throughout the process, as shared by my fellow actor Simon Pegg who reprises his role as Benji Dunn in this installment.
According to Pegg, I frequently converse with Rebecca. Lately, she has been very occupied as she is working on Silo season 3. It’s unfortunate, and many people were upset because the character Ilsa met her end.
He mentioned: “It suggests that the character and Rebecca are well-liked, but let’s remember, these tasks are extremely difficult, and not everyone manages to succeed.
In this installment, Ilsa is not returning, but the MIF team welcomes some fresh members, among them Paris, played by Pom Klementieff. Paris was initially portrayed as an opponent in the last movie, yet in this one, she teams up with Ethan Hunt and his crew after switching sides.

And Pegg said that he greatly enjoyed watching that character’s journey across the two films.
He shared that he particularly enjoys the portrayal of Paris in these two movies. “She’s truly remarkable in Dead Reckoning,” he said, “with an unyielding spirit and charisma that’s hard to ignore. Yet, what makes it even more captivating is witnessing her transformation as we see her vulnerable side in the other film.
In these two movies, Paris undergoes nearly the same degree of change as Benji does over a span of six!
