The indie studio, underDOGS, unveiled the gameplay trailer for their upcoming title, Mukti, which is a first-person narrative adventure game that’s part of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s India Hero Project.

Vaibhav Chavan, director of Mukti game and CEO of underDOGS, expressed in a press statement that being a part of Sony India Hero Project didn’t only provide us with the motivation to make our dream a reality, but it also strengthened our conviction that Indian narratives should be showcased globally. Now, we are excited to unveil a sneak peek of what we have been diligently working on behind the scenes.

In the first-person narrative adventure called Mukti, players assume the role of Arya, a young woman on a quest to find her missing grandfather in a vast museum he owned. The story unfolds amidst the mid-2000s India landscape, as players delve into the mystery surrounding his disappearance and gradually uncover distressing realities and concealed tales related to the menace of human trafficking.

Mukti is one of the components of Sony’s renowned India Hero Project, and underDOGS Studio has collaborated with Sony for more than a year now, to breathe life into Mukti.

PlayStation 5 Features

Optimized for both the standard PS5 and advanced PS5 Pro, Mukti offers an immersive gaming experience with high-intensity sequences and emotionally resonant scenes that are optimally enjoyed in 4K resolution. underDOGS Studio is collaborating closely with PlayStation to fine-tune the haptics and adaptive triggers of the PS5 DualSense controller, a signature feature of Sony’s gaming consoles. These features are carefully adjusted to deliver subtle vibrations during quiet puzzle-solving moments, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that when I dive into the Steam version of Mukti, I can expect to unlock achievements, share the game with my family, and even play it using a controller for an enhanced gaming experience!
