SHUTEN ORDER launches September 5

The innovative multi-genre adventure game titled “SHUTEN” by renowned creator Kazutaka Kodaka (known for the Danganronpa series) is set to release on September 5. This launch will be available on Nintendo Switch via the eShop and PC via Steam, as confirmed by publishers Spike Chunsoft and DMM Games, along with developers Too Kyo Games. Pre-orders for this exciting title will become available starting May 22.

Shuten Order is an engaging multi-genre adventure game, jointly developed by DMM GAMES and Too Kyo Games under the leadership of Kazutaka Kodaka, famously recognized for his work on the Danganronpa series. In this game, players get to explore five distinct gameplay mechanics, such as stealth action horror, multi-perspective visual novel systems, all within a single title.

In simple terms, Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd. will manage the release of the game on Steam, while Spike Chunsoft, Inc. will oversee the distribution for the Nintendo Switch versions in both North America and Europe.

Amidst a world shrouded in sorrow and turmoil, an enigmatic religious sect known as the Shuten Order arises, longing for the extinction of mankind. Swiftly garnering adherents, this group eventually establishes a small nation-state called Shuten. However, one fateful day, the Founder of this organization meets an untimely demise at the hands of an unknown assailant.

As I’m reborn into this world as Rei Shimobe, I find myself grappling with the enigmatic power called “God’s Blessing.” It’s a strange gift, indeed – a fleeting existence that spans merely four days. My past, my memories, all gone, leaving only the echoes of a life once lived.

In a turn of events, two individuals claiming to be divine emissaries, or messengers, appear and inform the main character that in order to experience a genuine rebirth, they must confront and bring justice upon the one who took their life – what can be referred to as God’s test.

Here starts an intense, four-day pursuit of the truth, where their life and the destiny of the world hang in the balance.

Characters

Protagonist: Rei Shimobe

The individual who established the Shuten Order was reborn in a makeshift body, having lost all memories of their past up until being assassinated. To conceal their true identity as the Order’s Founder, they assumed the alias “Rei Shimobe.” Posing as a detective, this person is on a mission to identify the murderer within a set timeframe: by dawn, four days from now.

Angel: Himeru

One of the two individuals who claim to be divine messengers from God, acting as guides for Rei. Eager and quick to anxiety, she often pushes Rei to continue despite her hesitation. It appears that she holds a deep-seated animosity and malice towards Shuten for some unknown reason.

Angel: Mikotoru

One of the two individuals who claim to be “messengers” sent by God, appears to serve as a guide for Rei. Composed, well-informed, and possessing exceptional analytical skills, he consistently steers Rei in the right direction. Yet, when faced with questions that delve into the heart of the matter, he tactfully avoids giving a direct response.

Minister of Justice: Kishiru Inugami

As a devoted follower, I’d describe him as the Head of Justice, the ministry that governs our laws. He’s a free-spirited soul, known for his off-the-cuff remarks and impromptu actions. His mind is a treasure trove of knowledge, adaptable, and simply unbeatable when it comes to settling disagreements. The “Ghost White Arbitrator” is another one of his many aliases. He’s got a keen passion for the intricacies of law, which some might call an addiction to legal drugs.

Minister of Health: Yugen Ushitora

As a gaming persona, I might say:

I’m not just your average gamer; I wear two hats that many wouldn’t dare to don. By day, I serve as the Head of Healthcare, overseeing medical care and running Shuten General Hospital, a place that stands tall in our cityscape. They call me the “Guardian of the Afterlife” due to my unwavering prowess in medicine. Yet, beneath this stoic exterior lies a heart brimming with compassion and warmth.

But let’s not be fooled by my jovial demeanor; I’m meticulous to a fault, leaving no stone unturned when it comes to details. And above all else, there’s one person who holds the key to my heart – my beloved younger sister.

Minister of Science: Teko Ion

Leader of the Science and Technology Department, overseeing every facet of scientific research and technological advancement within the nation. Despite his lack of charm in speech and demeanor, he is an intellectual titan with a remarkable intellect, responsible for creating much of the country’s technology. He is often referred to as “The Prodigy.

Minister of Education: Honoka Kokushikan

The leader at the helm of the Education Department, responsible for both education and dissemination of information, is colloquially known as “The Word Weaver” due to her skill in shaping and perplexing information. Much about her remains cloaked in enigma, including her true identity and appearance. Despite her penchant for silence, whispers abound concerning her aspirations to succeed as the next Founder…

Minister of Security: Manji Fushicho

The Leader of the National Security Department, responsible for upholding public tranquility, exhibits a quick temper and assertive demeanor. Known for her fierce opposition towards those who defy the established order (heretics), she is often referred to as the “Hunting Queen of Heretics.” Despite her aggressive stance, she yearns for peace in this nation above all others and strives to safeguard it.

Five ministers are at the helm of the Shuten Order’s administration, each one playing a crucial role in shaping their government. The plot and gaming experience could branch off in five distinct directions, contingent on whom you choose to suspect as the key player.

As I delve deeper into my gaming adventure, I utilize the “Snap” function to scrutinize questionable dialogue and fascinating artifacts with an eagle eye. By connecting the dots and drawing smart conclusions, I’m one step closer to unmasking the culprit behind this intriguing mystery.

Following Honoka Kokushikan’s poisoning, the hero, Rei, is guided to a specific school where he encounters three individuals claiming to be “Kokushikan.” To reveal the true Honoka, who possesses the antidote, build up each girl’s affection and successfully declare love.

In a world shrouded by hopelessness and turmoil, an unusual religious entity known as the Shuten Order arises, harboring a desire for human extinction. Head of the Ministry of Science, which controls all aspects of science and technology. Though charmless in both words and action, he is a genius with an unmeasurable IQ, and in charge of designing most of the country’s technology. Also known as the “Prodigy”.

Head of the Ministry of Education, which is in charge of education and information. Nicknamed the “Conjurer of Words” for her ability to manipulate information and confuse the public. Many things about her, including her true face, are shrouded in mystery. She’s typically quiet, but there are rumors about her ambition to become the next Founder

 
Minister of Security: Manji FushichoHead of the Ministry of Security, which maintains public order. Short tempered and aggressive. Particularly hostile to heretics (enemies of the order) and is known as the “Queen of Heretic Hunting”. Wishes for peace in this country more than anyone and tries to protect it.
