As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at each timeless gem in the Stalker Legends of the Zone Enhanced Edition. The vast map, reminiscent of the original version, has been given a fresh coat of visual upgrades. In this adventure, it’s my stamina that will carry me from one destination to another, all while pursuing objectives. But fear not, for I can also opt for fast travel across significant locales by engaging the services of guides in settlements. Although it won’t come without a price, the convenience of fast traveling is a welcome luxury for those who prefer to bypass the journey during missions.
How to Fast Travel in Stalker Legends of the Zone Trilogy
In the iconic Stalker series encompassed by the Stalker Legends of the Zone trilogy, players can utilize a service called guides for instant travel between locations. The games Stalker: Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat feature Non-Player Characters (NPCs) who transport players from one area to another at a cost – typically quite steep. However, before you can access this fast travel option, you’ll first need to find the guide character in each game and unlock the fast travel functionality.
In contrast to the other two games you’ve mentioned, Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl lacks a fast travel feature. Instead, players must traverse the game world on foot to progress through their objectives.
Where to Find a Guide for Fast Travel in Stalker: Clear Sky
Upon completing the game’s initial sequence, players arrive at the Clear Sky base. Here, they interact with the base residents and explore their surroundings. Following your first assignment, Scar gets struck by an emission and is transported back to the base. This incident triggers a fresh mission titled “Guard the Camp: Fishing Hamlet“.
Leaving Clear Sky Base behind, navigate your way towards the mission site. Along the journey, you’ll overhear radio communications from soldiers requesting help. Upon arrival, take caution and neutralize all enemies invading the Fishing Hamlet Point of Interest. Once the danger subsides, seek out Bogdan NPC, who can be found near a water well. Asking him “Where should I go next?” will grant you the ability to fast travel to locations you’ve previously visited.
Where to Find a Guide for Fast Travel in Stalker: Call of Pripyat
In much the same way as Clear Sky, players in Stalker Call of Pripyat will need to locate guides for navigating through The Zone. Initially, you’ll come across a pilot who can transport players to the Yaniv region at a cost of 3000 units. If this fee appears steep, an alternative is to visit the Stingray 2 investigation site and retrieve maps from the helicopter. Once acquired, proceed to Skadovsk base and converse with Pilot; doing so may result in him offering a reduced price for fast travel, lowering it from 3000 to 1000.
In another scenario, during the initial assignment of Operation The Sultan titled “The Hit,” you might come across a different kind of guide. This mission transports players to the Shevchenko vessel under the cover of night. Your objective there is to collaborate with fellow soldiers of the Sultan to eliminate a bandit group.
After dealing with the bandits, make your way to Lyonka Spade to collect your reward. You can ask, “What’s your plan?” and then offer, “I have somewhere I need to go, could you guide me there for a price?” This will allow you to quickly travel to different Points of Interest within the current region in the game Stalker Call of Pripyat.
