Chaos Unleashed: Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement’s Wild Anti-Romcom Begins Filming!

Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement are now capturing scenes for an unusual antithesis to a romantic comedy on Disney+, temporarily titled “Alice and Steve.

In a different context from Channel 4’s show titled Alice & Jack, let’s hope Disney offers a more thrilling concept. The narrative delves into a fissure that develops between two lifelong companions when one friend transgresses an incredibly surprising personal limit.

My longstanding friends, Alice and Steve, face an unexpected upheaval as middle-aged Steve embarks on a romance with my 26-year-old daughter, Izzy.

Despite the fact that they’ve had experience dealing with disorder and questionable choices, their unbreakable bond is now being put to the ultimate test. This strained friendship jeopardizes not only their personal relationships but also their future prospects, putting everything they hold dear at risk.

Back in January, it was announced that I’ve been eagerly anticipating the upcoming movie, “Alice and Steve.” This film boasts two heavyweight stars as its leads, and one of them is none other than the incredibly talented Alice – known for her captivating performances in Unforgotten, The Split, and more recently, Annika.

In the course of events, Clement gained popularity as one-half of the comedy folk duo Flight of the Conchords. Later, he achieved more success with What We Do in the Shadows, Moana, Avatar: The Way of Water, and this year’s blockbuster hit A Minecraft Movie.

Additionally, stars Yali Topol Margalith (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder), Joel Fry (Cruella), Tyrese Eaton-Dyce (Sherwood), Marcia Warren (The Crown), Eilidh Fisher (Dope Girls) and Ebony Aboagye (Staged) in this production.

Walker expressed his excitement about entering the captivating universe crafted by Sophie Goodhart, encompassing friendship, motherhood, marriage, vengeance, and intense love. Sharing this journey with Jemaine Clement makes the experience even more delightful for him!

Previously, the creator Goodhart has been involved with projects such as Sex Education, Boat Story, and Rivals – a humorous resume that hints at the potential humor or unconventional tone of this upcoming show. Meanwhile, director for this project will be Tom Kingsley, who has previously worked on This Is Going to Hurt.

Clement remarked: “I find Steve quite similar to myself – he’s refined, fashionable, and just a great individual, that is, when he isn’t. I’m thrilled about collaborating with the remarkable Nicola Walker and observing the tumultuous unfolding of Steve and Alice’s relationship as it spirals into complete disarray.

Prepare yourself for an uproarious blend of deceit and retribution set in a world inhabited by complex, imperfect characters masterfully crafted by Sophie Goodhart.

We’re excited to present a unique blend of humor and intrigue on Disney Plus! This captivating tale is brilliantly portrayed by the renowned British actress Nicola Walker in an unprecedented manner, and we’re also fortunate to have New Zealand’s comedic powerhouse, Jemaine Clement, as part of our cast.
