A fresh themed addition to the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is about to drop, featuring the Ultra Beasts as its theme. This upcoming set, titled “Extradimensional Crisis,” is expected to hit shelves on May 29th. So far, The Pokemon Company has given us a sneak peek at several new cards that will join the game, including designs inspired by Buzzwole, Kartana, Nihilego, and other creatures. At this point, we’re unsure of exactly how many new cards the booster pack will include, but it’s likely to be a smaller number compared to a full expansion set.
Beyond just the Ultra Beasts, the “Extradimensional Crisis” expansion will feature numerous cards inspired by “Pokemon Sun and Moon”. Among the cards showcased in this morning’s trailer are new ones based on Rowlet, Tapu Koko, and Type: Null. It’s no surprise that Lusamine is getting a full art card given her strong connection to the Ultra Beasts in the video games. You can watch the full trailer for the upcoming booster pack below.
Besides the latest booster pack, Pokemon TCG Pocket enthusiasts have something exciting to anticipate – a series of in-game events focusing on Ultra Beasts and Alolan Pokemon starting from June 3rd. The Ultra Beast Drop event, commencing on June 3rd, will offer players an Ultra Necrozma ex promo card as a reward. On June 11th, the Wonder Pick event will provide players with opportunities to obtain promo cards featuring Poipole and Stufful. Lastly, there’s a Mass Outbreak event scheduled for June 22nd, where players can try their luck at acquiring Ultra Beast cards.
In the games Pokemon Sun and Moon, the Ultra Beasts held significant importance, yet they were absent from the Celestial Guardians expansion in the Pokemon TCG Pocket. It has long been a logical idea to give them their own specialized booster pack, and it’ll be intriguing to learn how new players respond to these peculiar Pokemon. The Ultra Beasts originate from various dimensions, resulting in their striking differences compared to traditional Pokemon; they all sport an alien-like appearance. Despite their unusual looks, some of them have gained popularity among fans over time, with Poipole being particularly notable as it was frequently featured by Ash in the Sun and Moon anime.
Looking forward to fresh cards coming to Pokemon TCG Pocket, it’s intriguing to ponder how the introductions from Extradimensional Crisis might alter the gameplay dynamics. Based on a sneak peek in today’s video, players may discover innovative methods for adjusting their decks with these new cards, and concoct fresh strategies as well. While a continuous stream of new cards can be slightly aggravating at times, it’s essential in preventing the game from growing monotonous!
