Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Balterirra are cracking open their closed adoption just a little.
In a special sneak peek of the May 22 season finale on MTV’s Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, the former parents of Carly, who is now 16 and was adopted in 2009, have a conversation with Dr. Drew Pinsky as he facilitates their relationship with Carly’s adoptive parents, Brandon Davis and Teresa Davis.
As we find ourselves in this video meeting with Dr. Drew, Catelynn expresses her hope for re-establishing communication. She wishes to convey to her, ‘I care for you deeply and I often think about you.’
Over the phone conversation, Doctor Drew shares his thoughts on Brandon and Teresa’s decision to sever ties with Catelynn and Tyler.
He confided in the couple, who are parents of daughters Nova (10), Vaeda (6), and Rya (3), that this situation was deeply emotional for him, likely echoing their feelings as well. Brandon shared with him some heartening updates about Carly, saying, “This child is flourishing. She has friends, she’s athletic, she’s musically inclined, and she’s involved in so many wonderful activities.
In a turn of events that left me reeling, I found myself feeling somewhat overlooked. To put it plainly, I couldn’t help but exclaim, “If only they had thought to include me in this update, I could have spent more time with that stunning young lady.
For Tyler, Brandon, and Teresa, providing an extraordinary life for their daughter stirs up a range of feelings due to maintaining a distance from her existence.
He expresses that it’s impossible for him not to feel thankful towards them. At the same time, he acknowledges that he could have wished for more transparency and honesty regarding their intentions with the adoption, especially prior to taking the child.
Regardless of the ongoing disputes, Dr. Drew remains hopeful that the two families will eventually find peace and reconcile.
He clarifies, “I don’t anticipate any obstacles or delays in our meeting up. It’s all about taking small steps first. However, it would be lovely if you could consider sending gifts during special occasions such as Christmas and birthdays, as long as they are suitable.
He continues by stating that it won’t be flawless, but the important thing Teresa emphasized is her desire for what you want and to preserve the relationship. However, she feels there should be some sort of reset, allowing everyone to calm down and for any hostility to subside.
As they were wrapping up their conversation, Dr. Drew suggested that Catelynn and Tyler might like to see a heartwarming video of Carly performing in church.
He shares that they’ve made a song of hers, which he finds deeply touching. He invites them both to listen together as it seems like Carly is conveying, “I’m doing well.

Regardless of having new partners, the MTV celebrities, who became close during The Challenge production, still share responsibilities for raising their child named Ryder jointly.
From the very start, Cory’s role in Ryder’s life was about determining the kind of father and parent he wanted to become, Cheyenne shared with TopMob News in March 2020. We aspired to get married, and we had our wedding ceremony. Lastly, we wanted to buy a house and we successfully purchased our dream home.
Now, she went on to say, “I don’t feel like taking action or setting a target. Instead, I desire tranquility. I wish to simply sit and remain motionless. My aim is to stay still and be content with our current situation. All I want is for us to appreciate each other more. That’s all there is to it; I desire nothing else.
Establishing a bond during filming for the show “Ex on the Beach” might not seem like the beginning of a romantic tale, but fast forward several years and two beautiful daughters named Mila and Maya, Cory and former contestant from “Are You the One?”, Taylor Selfridge, are still creating ripples.

Two months before the birth of Farrah Abraham’s daughter Sophia, which occurred in December 2008, Sophia’s father tragically passed away in an accident.

After that point, Luis’ participation has been inconsistent at most. In a December 2019 episode of Teen Mom 2, Briana shared with Dr. Drew, “It seems like he wants a family with me, but since I’m not offering that, he just prefers to keep his distance entirely.
