In an unexplained manner, Suiren escorts Maomao to a small settlement, menacingly targeting Suirei, who poses as a servant girl. However, it’s later disclosed that Suirei is not only feigning her role but also collaborating with Suiren. They address each other as sisters and conspire maliciously to stir up trouble within the royal family. Meanwhile, Jinshi observes the vanishing of Concubine Loulan, one of the top four concubines. The narrative is set to undergo a significant shift as Season 2 approaches its conclusion. Last week, there was a break in broadcasting, with a special episode featuring voice actors instead of a new episode. The premiere of Season 2 Episode 19 is scheduled for May 23rd, and the official website has recently confirmed the appearance of this villain and announced the voice actor.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 Episode 19 Will Debut Shenmei

Based on the official site’s announcement, Rica Fukami is set to voice Shenmei, the primary antagonist in the series. Rica Fukami, a seasoned actress, has previously played roles like Minako Aiko in Sailor Moon and Myung Fang Lone from Macross, among others. The site also refers to her as a “woman with a chilling demeanor and an enigmatic aura.” In the second Season 2 opening, she makes an appearance facing away from the others, with Loulan and Shishou on opposite sides, hinting at a connection between Shenmei and the father-daughter duo. This connection seems to establish her as Loulan’s mother given their shared hair color. In Volume 4 of the series, Shenmei is expected to play a significant role, and light novel enthusiasts are already familiar with her ruthless personality.

In the upcoming Season 2 Episode 19, the narrative will primarily revolve around Maomao, who resides in a village hosting a festival. As Jinshi’s desperation intensifies due to his ongoing search for her, the motives behind Suiren and Suirei’s actions remain unclear. Despite this ambiguity, these two sisters do not seem malicious as they have never intentionally harmed Maomao.
