‘Just Added 10 Years To My Life’: Pedro Pascal Fans Are Swooning Over Him Quoting Pride & Prejudice While Gazing Into Chris Evans’ Eyes, And Same

In the lineup of 2025 movies, don’t overlook the romantic entanglements featuring Pedro Pascal, Chris Evans, and Dakota Johnson – quite a powerhouse ensemble, isn’t it? Notably, filmmaker Celine Song, who captured our hearts with her 2023 release Past Lives, returns with a new film titled Materialists. The cast is well-versed in the art of romance, as evident by their quotes during the press tour. There’s been quite a buzz online about Pascal reenacting a scene reminiscent of “Pride and Prejudice” with Chris Evans.

The film “Materialists” is scheduled on A24’s roster, but the trailer gives off a typical romantic comedy vibe with some of today’s most prominent actors. Although I’m slightly skeptical about their marketing strategy, a video featuring the three leads playing a game where they recite famous love quotes from various sources was quite charming. Indeed, it was quite enjoyable watching them geek out about the memorable romantic scenes from Hollywood, especially as they strive to create something unique with their production of “Materialists”. However, what kept me rewinding was Pedro Pascal asking Chris Evans to gaze into his eyes before delivering the Mr. Darcy line in the 2005 adaptation of “Pride & Prejudice”.

Lately, I’ve caught a screening of “Pride & Prejudice” in theaters for its 20th anniversary rerelease, and every single time Mr. Darcy delivers that particular line to Elizabeth Bennet, it’s simply captivating. Fans of Pascal can’t get enough of the actor’s unique interpretation of it as well!

  • “pedro quoting mr darcy just added 10 years to my life” – @majalozo
  • “pedro quoting mr darcy is my religion” – @i0dana
  • “I was NOT ready for Pedro as Darcy 😍” – @patriciacortos
  • “”Chris look into my eyes” *starts reciting Pride & Prejudice* OKAY THEN 🫠💗” – @salivan
  • “Not me shipping Pedro and Chris after the Mr. Darcy line 😭” – @virginiapeyronel

It was almost risky for A24 not to give a heads-up before releasing this video, as Pedro Pascal speaking those lines might have sent fans of romantic dramas into a frenzy, reminiscent of a heartthrob embodying Mr. Darcy. If this doesn’t draw in the audience for Materialists, I’m not sure what else could!

As a film enthusiast, I must assure you that Pedro Pascal isn’t the sole shining star in this video. In fact, Evans, yes, that’s right, Evans, stole the show with his uncanny knack for staying on top of genre trends. It was nothing short of remarkable when he correctly identified a quote from “The Notebook” after just two words given by Pascal. Here are some additional comments that demonstrate the love and admiration the former Captain America receives:

This way, it’s more conversational and personal, as if you were talking to someone about your shared passion for films.

  • “Chris saying ‘I’m just a girl.’ 😭❤️” – @giselle_barajas1234
  • “Chris Evans being a lover boy was not on my bingo card” – @michelleoflions
  • “Chris lives for rom-coms and we can see that 😭❤️” – @gksarchive7
  • “Bro Chris is obsessed with the notebook huh 😭” – @bribri_4750
  • “Chris being a romcom girlie? ABSOLUTELY SAT” – @supernatural_debs

It’s wonderful that Chris Evans seemed to be the most enthusiastic about a romantic trio among the three. The actor went as far as inviting Pascal to watch “Notting Hill” together after confessing he hadn’t seen it before. An intriguing detail about Dakota Johnson is her bold question during their game, asking what the reward was after being sandwiched between Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. Moreover, she had the opportunity to act alongside them and has developed a friendship with Pascal.

Materialists hits theaters on June 13.
