Capcom has recently revised its list of Platinum Titles, a collection that includes all Capcom games selling over a million units. This update includes fresh sales data for the enduringly popular Resident Evil series, whose sales continue to incrementally increase with each passing day, boosting their overall lifetime totals.
As of March 31, the survival horror game Resident Evil 2 has sold approximately 15.4 million copies globally, an increase from its previous sales figure of 15 million units as of December. With Capcom’s next update, it is expected that Resident Evil 2 will surpass Resident Evil 5, which has sold a total of 15.5 million copies across all releases and re-releases, potentially making Resident Evil 2 the best-selling game in the Resident Evil series.
