However, Susan’s reappearance in “The Interstellar Song Contest” challenges this belief about the extinction of the Doctor’s kind.
Despite adopting a human name, Susan is actually a Time Lord, a direct descendant of the Doctor himself. Given their familial relationship and shared DNA, it’s understandable that the Doctor believed the Master had killed Susan (along with other Time Lords) when he destroyed Gallifrey. Remarkably, Susan managed to elude the Master’s genocidal plot, leading us to speculate that some other Time Lords may have also survived and perhaps even Gallifrey itself.
Absolutely, Susan isn’t purely Gallifreyan like the Time Lords. Since Susan and the Doctor share some genetic code, this could be why Susan was able to escape the Master’s targeted attack on the Time Lords. The One Problem With Doctor Who Bringing Back Gallifrey

Despite the planet appearing frequently, there remains an intriguing sense of enigma about the Time Lords’ homeland. Regrettably, since Gallifrey often fluctuates between existence and nonexistence, many potential paths to reinstate it in the timeline have already been taken.
Since the reemergence of Gallifrey in 2013’s “The Day of the Doctor,” the show has presented an engaging narrative that culminated in Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor searching for the rediscovered planet. His homecoming to Gallifrey was a satisfying conclusion, but it would be uninspired and somewhat anticlimactic if Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor were to embark on a similar journey so swiftly after the Twelve had done so. Merely seeing Gallifrey reappear in the sky wouldn’t adequately convey the twist; rather, Doctor Who needs to think outside the box if Gallifrey is to resurface again, ensuring that its return is handled with care and creativity.
