In a fresh deckbuilding game titled “Hell Maiden“, the spirit of “Touhou Project” blends with that of “Vampire Survivors“. This unique gaming experience is inspired by Dante Alighieri’s epic poem, “Divine Comedy“.

The game titled “Hell Maiden” is a forthcoming deckbuilding survival game swarming with hordes, created by AstralShift – the same team behind the popular games “Little Goody Two Shoes” and “Pocket Mirror“. Notably, this team, previously known for their horror genre creations, is now venturing into action-packed adventure territory, basing their new project on Dante Alighieri’s renowned work, “Divine Comedy“.

Fundamentally, “Hell Maiden” combines the survival elements of a horde in roguelite games with deckbuilding techniques. This innovative blend offers players an exciting new adventure where they gather, amass, and merge numerous cards to construct distinctive decks and obliterate Hell’s most formidable adversaries.

Players must overcome each of the nine Infernal Circles, relying on the guidance and equipment bestowed by the Limbo’s Poets. Their blessings and distinctive weapons grant special powers, bonuses, and ultimate assaults, allowing for a multitude of powerful build combinations.

Featuring over 200 original tarot-inspired card illustrations, this game combines the vintage charm of ’00s graphics with a contemporary, expressive touch. Hand-painted settings add depth, while combat sequences are visually impressive and dynamic ultimate attacks showcase stunning 2D animations for an eye-catching gaming experience.

In the spirit of a fresh continuation to Dante Alighieri’s epic, “The Divine Comedy,” the game titled “Hell Maiden” invites players on an unprecedented odyssey through the nine realms, otherwise known as the Circles.

Dante has mysteriously returned to the underworld, having previously ascended to Paradise. What’s more puzzling is that she’s lost all recollections of her past or her initial journey through Hell. With no memories to guide her, Dante is resolved to make another ascent towards Heaven, hoping to reunite with the higher powers in Paradiso and regain answers about her forgotten life.

Once more, alongside Virgil, the revered Roman poet, and shielded by the holy Beatrice, participants must navigate through the ominous darkness while rescuing the Lost Poets in Limbo. Their destiny is now intertwined with that of Dante.

In the company of Virgil, a renowned Roman poet, and under the protection of Beatrice, an individual must journey through the dark void, not only for survival but also to free and save poets who are currently in Limbo. The outcome of these poets is now tied to Dante’s success.

In this scenario, individuals will have the opportunity to engage with renowned ancient figures like Homer, Ovid, Horace, and Lucan – poets, philosophers, and artists from times past. Their task is to assist these historic personalities in discovering their paths towards redemption or salvation.

Drawing inspiration from the vibrant and eccentric characters of the Touhou Project, Hell Maiden creatively rejuvenates its foundation by featuring an exclusively female cast and a unique soundtrack that fuses dance music with a gothic aristocratic twist, all while preserving AstralShift’s beloved charm.

  • Dante Alighieri – Remembered as a grand poet of the Middle Ages, Dante Alighieri once again embarks on a journey through the afterlife—this time, however, as one of Hell’s many sinners. Determined, willful and stubborn, Dante has an incredibly strong sense of justice which occasionally brings out her prideful nature.
  • Beatrice Portinari – Ardently dedicated to her purpose in overseeing Dante’s climb to Paradiso, her heart is set on securing her beloved’s salvation and keeping her from straying—whatever the cost. For Beatrice, one’s vows are eternal and her duty to protect and guide Dante prevails over any and every hardship.
  • Virgil Pablias Vergilias Maro – Bubbly and full of energy, Virgil is endlessly devoted to her loved ones—an affectionate and kind soul despite her occasional bouts of mischievousness. A long term resident of Limbo, she’s immensely secretive about her past. With love conquers all as her motto, Virgil will go above and beyond to reach her goals even if it means going against the most powerful forces in Hell.
  • Ovid Pablias Ovidias Naso – With the Metamorphoses as her magnum opus, Ovid resides in the Forum amongst her fellow Poets of Limbo. Demanding and outspoken, she spends her eternity antagonizing others while seeking the attention of her beloved, Virgil. While self-assured and confident, Ovid is terribly afraid of the dark and dislikes discussing the circumstances of her past life.
