Recently, Emmerdale provided a surprising piece of news about Debbie Dingle, who left the village four years ago.
Back in 2019, I, Debbie (Charley Webb), made a change, trading the Yorkshire Dales for the beauty of Scotland. Leaving my daughter, Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), behind was not an easy decision, but it was a move I felt compelled to make.
Meanwhile, it was revealed in last night’s episode of ITV’s soap opera (on Thursday, 22nd May), that despite visiting Debbie off-camera since she left, the Dingles didn’t know as much about her location as they believed.
spectators saw Sarah dial her overseas mother, intending to share the news that she had been informed she might have cervical cancer. However, before Sarah could speak, Debbie unexpectedly broke the news – she had moved to Australia.
Later on, Sarah made her way over to The Woolpack to talk to Charity Dingle, played by Emma Atkins. There, she shared the update that Debbie was no longer around.

A puzzled Charity inquired: “Is she really in Australia, at this moment?”, to which Sarah replied: “Indeed, they arrived this morning. I called them shortly after they touched down. Here’s an interesting tidbit – she got married to Chris three weeks back.
It seems this new development indicates that Debbie won’t feature in Sarah’s forthcoming health narrative, as it intensifies next week when Sarah learns her biopsy findings have been prepared.
Actress Charley Webb, who played Debbie, left the show back in 2019.
She returned for a guest stint in 2021 and 2021, but soon departed again.
