Shocking New Footage of Titanic Submersible’s Final Moments Revealed!

More details about the Titan submersible tragedy have come to light.

Approximately two years since the OceanGate Expedition’s ship suffered an explosion, carrying five individuals including CEO Stockton Rush, recently unveiled video captures the instant the disaster’s sound wave reached the ocean’s surface.

On June 18, 2023, while serving as OceanGate’s director and being married to Stockton, Wendy Rush watched data and messages with employee Gary Foss at a computer. As the submersible descended to 3,300 meters, they heard a faint thump. Inquiring about the sound in footage later released by the U.S. Coast Guard on May 22, Wendy asked, “What was that noise?

The US Coast Guard provided a video as proof to the Marine Board Investigation for the 2024 case, which they accompanied with the statement that the noise in the clip “matched up with the loss of communications and tracking later on” and added that it “is presumed to be the audio of the Titan’s collapse reaching the surface of the ocean.

As soon as the deafening boom echoed, my heart leaped with anticipation. At 9:17 a.m. ET (or 10:47 a.m. NDT), a message buzzed on Wendy’s device from the submersible. It read: “Dropped two weights.” This little phrase was the key to altering its buoyancy, allowing it to either dive deeper or resurface. I could barely contain my excitement!

The message brought her a sense of relief following the initial sound. Yet, communication with the Titan, which collapsed about 90 minutes into its journey, quickly ceased nearly instantaneously after the messages were dispatched, as the agency explained in an illustrative animation that was observed by TopMob News.

30 minutes ago, as the Titan (with Stockton, Hamish Harding, Paul-Henri Nargeolet, Shahzada Dawood, and his son Suleman Dawood aboard) was diving to a depth of 2,178 meters, the team on the accompanying ship inquired three times if they could be seen on their navigation system. The Titan responded, “Yes, our system is malfunctioning and settings are not set correctly.

One of their last transmissions stated, “Everything’s fine up here” as they reached an altitude of approximately 2,288 meters, around 1,000 meters prior to the explosion.

During the search for the submersible on the surface, OceanGate announced four days later, through a statement, that it was thought everyone aboard, who were bound for the Titanic wreckage viewing, may have perished.

The statement from the company on June 22, 2023 reads: “These men embodied the essence of true explorers, characterized by a strong zest for adventure and an unwavering love for ocean exploration and preservation. We deeply mourn their passing and extend our condolences to all their families. Their loss leaves us heartbroken, not only because they are gone but also due to the vibrance they brought into everyone’s lives.

On June 18, 2023, the underwater explorer Titan, operated by OceanGate Expeditions, and carrying five individuals for an expedition to the Titanic wreckage, was reported missing. After a comprehensive search lasting five days, the U.S. Coast Guard announced at a press conference on June 22 that the craft had experienced a devastating collapse, which led to the tragic loss of all five passengers aboard.

The businessman of Pakistani origin named Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleman Dawood, who are both British nationals, were unfortunately among those affected as well.

Or:

The Pakistani-born entrepreneur Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old British son Suleman Dawood were sadly part of the group that suffered this incident.

Both sentences convey the same information in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.

I am proud to be part of one Pakistan’s most affluent families, with me personally serving as Vice Chairman for Engro Corporation, as reported by The New York Times. Currently, my child is pursuing education at the prestigious University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.

Azmeh Dawood, Shahzada’s sibling, shared with NBC News that Suleman initially showed hesitation regarding the journey, confiding in a family member that he wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about it and was quite fearful of the expedition to investigate the Titanic wreckage. However, he chose to embark on the trip, as a gesture to please his father, who is an avid admirer of the Titanic, for Father’s Day.

With deep sadness, we share the news on our website that Shahzada and Suleman Dawood have tragically passed away. They were unfortunately onboard OceanGate’s Titan submersible which met an unfortunate end underwater. We kindly ask for your continued prayers for their souls and our family as we go through this challenging time of mourning.

Stockton Rush, OceanGate’s CEO and a pioneer with a passion for exploration, was at the helm of the Titan. He established the research company in 2009, in Everett, Washington. Over the years, this visionary had nurtured a dream to be the first human on Mars, and he expressed his wish to be recognized as an innovator.

Apart from conducting expeditions to explore the remains of the Titanic, Rush had an unexpected link to the historic 1912 incident: His wife, Wendy Rush, is a descendant of three generations removed from Ida and Isidor Straus, who perished on the Titanic.

On June 17th, through an Instagram post, the wealthy Briton, Hamish Harding, acknowledged his involvement in the venture. The following day, the submersible plunged beneath the surface of the water and has since remained untraceable.

He shared that he’s thrilled to disclose his new role as a mission specialist on the RMS Titanic expedition with OceanGate Expeditions, diving down to the Titanic itself. Due to Newfoundland experiencing its worst winter in four decades, this could be the sole manned dive to the Titanic in 2023. A weather opportunity has emerged, and we’re planning to make our descent tomorrow.

According to Harding, who is the head of Action Aviation, they commenced their journey from St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, and are looking forward to initiating diving operations around 4 a.m. on June 18th. He also mentioned that there’s still much to be done in terms of preparations and briefings before then.

In his past adventures, he journeyed to the extreme depths of the Mariana Trench, sharing with Gulf News in 2021 that it was a starkly unforgiving environment. He also expressed excitement about exploring areas of the Challenger Deep that no human had ever ventured before, calling it an extraordinary experience.

The Dubai businessman, based in Dubai, had also embarked on a global journey by airplane through the One More Orbit project. Last year, he ventured into space aboard Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin New Shepard rocket. He frequently expresses his passion for thrilling experiences with his son, who goes by the title of “teen explorer” on Instagram, named Giles.

Regarding the fifth individual, Paul-Henri Nargeolet, who was a traveler aboard the Titanic, as confirmed by his representative to the New York Times, is also mentioned by Harding on Instagram as part of the group.

The Times portrayed him as a seasoned maritime professional with a past in the French Navy. At 71 years old, he is undoubtedly an authority on the Titanic and has made 35 trips to its wreckage. Nargeolet held the position of director for RMS Titanic, Inc., a company dedicated to researching, salvaging, and exhibiting artifacts from the iconic ship, as reported.

Alongside fellow passenger Hamish Harding, he was a member of The Explorers Club, founded in 1904.

According to Harding’s article, the submersible called Titan was involved in an OceanGate Expeditions journey, delving into the remnants of the sunken RMS Titanic, a ship that tragically went underwater back in 1912.

OceanGate extended its condolences to the families of the deceased, acknowledging them as brave explorers who embodied a unique sense of adventure and had a profound love for discovering and safeguarding the world’s oceans. During this difficult period, their thoughts are with the five individuals who perished and all members of their families. They mourn the loss of life and the warmth these people brought to those around them.
