Ashley Graham’s 2025 Met Gala look was even slicker than it looked.
On May 5th at the NYC costume ball, the model donned a striking gray pinstripe suit dress. Just as she was about to step into the Metropolitan Museum of Art, an unforeseen event with mint oil occurred, prompting her to swiftly add a discreet accessory to her outfit.
In a recent post on her Substack, she expressed that her sole disappointment was not having more brooches. The only reason she owned even one brooch was due to an unexpected oil spill at the last moment.
After the situation arose, Ashley – mother of children Isaac (5), and twins Malachi and Roman (3) together with her partner Justin Ervin – quickly sprang into action alongside her team to address it.
She stated that in haste, she quickly put on her shoes, and since the elevator wasn’t working, we rushed downstairs instead. We did our best to remove the stain, but unfortunately, we concluded that there was nothing effective other than using Dawn dish soap, and maybe a visit to the dry cleaner would be necessary.
In a pinch, I swiftly stepped up to save myself when, at 37 years old, I made an instant choice to fix my attire in a crunch.
She confessed with candor, “I’m taking credit for this,” referring to the clever notion of using a diamond spectrum from Nikos Koulis as an exquisite brooch.
At the party, Ashley’s entrance was initially marked by some turmoil, but she’s accustomed to a touch of excitement at the Met Gala—the enjoyable kind, specifically. In 2024, she graced the event in a stunning, form-fitting black dress that demanded considerable time and effort to assemble.
She shared with TopMob that it required more than 500 hours of work, explaining that each tiny crystal was handcrafted and woven into a mesh structure.
And if the gown looked breathtaking, that’s because it actually was.
She playfully remarked, “I’m having a tough time getting enough air,” hinting at her current situation where internal organs seem to be crowded, noticeably expanding her usual waistline.
