The reason behind the advice that Sara Foster and Erin Foster intend to share with their own daughters is a time-tested pearl of wisdom they received from their mother, Rebecca Dyer. It’s an insight they wished they had embraced earlier in life.

Sara emphasized to TopMob News during a shared interview with Erin that our mom often imparted wisdom we didn’t fully grasp at the time, but she was pointing to her neck area when she said, “Your beauty starts here.” In other words, Sara advised that if you’re taking care of your face, you should also pay equal attention to your neck and chest regions. This is a piece of advice that, if heeded early on, can lead to significantly better results.

Furthermore, Erin, mother of 12-month-old Noa alongside her partner Simon Tikhman, emphasized that the essence of beauty and skincare goes beyond just using products.

The creator of “Nobody Wants This” articulated her approach as simply accepting the natural process of aging while taking every measure to stay as fit and healthy as possible, both physically and aesthetically. She emphasized that a clean and balanced diet, hydration, regular exercise, and adequate sleep are the most effective strategies for maintaining a beautiful appearance.

However, it’s important to note that beauty regimens should not only follow traditional methods; they should adapt and change – not merely following fashion trends, but prioritizing different aspects based on personal needs and preferences over time.

As you grow older, there’s a shift not towards using more makeup, but rather focusing more on skincare, Sara pointed out. This is because, as time passes, there are increasingly active ingredients that become necessary to counteract issues that weren’t relevant in your twenties.

Undeniably, the creators of Favorite Daughter, daughters of renowned music producer David Foster, spent their twenties exploring various styles, some of which they now look back on with a touch of remorse.

Sara, 44, confessed, “I once lightened and plucked my eyebrows. In hindsight, I wish I hadn’t, as I had naturally thick and full eyebrows. If I hadn’t altered them, I believe I would have been more attractive in my younger years. It’s amazing they grew back.

Even though Erin noted that her older sister was following the trend, Sara underscored, “That merely illustrates how God provides you with what you truly need.

In retrospect, Erin, 42, can see she took another early aughts trend a little too far.

She admitted, “In the past, I often wore my hair in a towering updo. Frankly, I can’t explain why, but it was quite over-the-top and reminiscent of beauty pageants. My friends would frequently tell me to stop, to which I’d respond with a shrug and think, ‘haters gonna hate.’ However, looking back, I realize it wasn’t the best choice.

David Foster, who has accolades as a musician, composer, and producer, is also cherished by his six kids as their dad. In an interview with People magazine in 2022, the Grammy-winning artist expressed his joy of fatherhood, stating, “It’s fantastic being a dad.” Despite welcoming his youngest child Rennie at 71, he admits that he has more time now than ever before – without implying any less love for his other children.

David Foster is married to Katharine McPhee, marking his fifth marriage. His past relationships are documented in the 2019 documentary “David Foster: Off the Record.” In this film, he reportedly admitted to being a “runner” in the past, meaning he often moved on from relationships when something new caught his eye. However, with Katharine, David stated that he is content and happy in their relationship as per Rolling Stone magazine.

David hails from a large household that includes six sisters. Notably, one of them is Jaymes Foster, who had a child named Parker with friend Clay Aiken back in 2008. Interestingly, while American Idol second runner-up Clay Aiken once mentioned Parker was fond of singing frequently, he pointed out that Parker has opted for a different career route since then. David’s oldest daughter, Allison Jones, was born when he was 20 years old and put up for adoption. They eventually reconnected as adults. Currently, she serves as the Director at The David Foster Foundation. According to her bio, “Allison holds an MBA from McMaster University and resides in Edmonton, Alberta with her husband Brent, and their two kids.

Back in 1972, I was fortunate enough to marry my bandmate, B.J. Cook, from The Hawks and Skylark. At that time, she had a daughter named Tamre Winger, whom I became a stepfather to. In the following year, we were blessed with our own child, Amy S. Foster. However, we parted ways in 1981. Fast forward to 2023, an incredible moment occurred when B.J. and I were honored together with a star on the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame StarWalk.

Amy S. Foster, known for the ‘S’ in their family band Skylark, shares the same musical passion as her parents. She has penned songs not only for herself but also for renowned artists such as Michael Bublé, Rod Stewart, and Destiny’s Child.

Growing up in Toronto, Amy found it challenging to be away from her father David, but their relationship eventually blossomed. In an interview with People in 2020, she expressed that the bond with her dad is now exceptional. She admired his willingness to change and evolve, stating, “He’s not so rigid that he thinks he can’t change or grow. He’s constantly changing, and I love that.”

When a social media user accused David of abandoning his older children, Amy swiftly defended him, clarifying there was no abandonment involved.

Apart from being a gifted songwriter, Amy is an author and the founder of a yarn label. She is a mother to three beautiful children: Eva and Mikaela from her previous marriage to Simon Gillies, as well as Vaughn, whom she had with husband Matthew Freeman.

In 1982, David married Rebecca Dyer. Together they had three daughters named Sara Foster, Erin Foster, and Jordan Foster. The daughters have shared their close relationship with their mother.

In a tribute for her birthday in 2021, Erin wrote, “It’s only as an adult that I truly understand the impact of my mom’s actions on me. In my twenties, I dismissed all of her advice, ended phone conversations quickly, and essentially asked her to find new hobbies. Every year of my thirties has shown me more and more how much I need my mom.”

Rebecca and David parted ways in 1986, and he later married Linda Thompson.

As a born child of 1981, I am Sara, the eldest daughter to David and Rebecca. Growing up alongside my sister Erin, we’ve shared countless adventures, such as starring in Barely Famous from 2015 to 2016, co-hosting The World’s First Podcast, founding apparel brand Favorite Daughter, and venture capital investment firm Oversubscribed Ventures. I also served as an executive producer for Erin’s Netflix rom-com, Nobody Wants This.

In my earlier career, you might have spotted me in the spin-off series 90210, movies like D.E.B.S., Demoted, and The Big Bounce.

I’m a proud mother to daughters Valentina and Josephine, sharing this journey with tennis player Tommy Haas. Although we confirmed our separation in November 2024, my sister Erin highlighted that Tommy remains an integral part of our family.

On Jeff Lewis Live, Erin expressed that Tommy is a fantastic individual. She went on to say that he’s a wonderful father. Currently, they are having dinner with her husband and another brother-in-law named Tom. In essence, she mentioned that Tommy has become an integral part of their family for good.

 

18 months after Sara was born in 1982, Erin made her entrance to the world. Apart from co-creating “Nobody Wants This” and founding Favorite Daughter, The World’s First Podcast, and Oversubscribed Ventures alongside Sara, this prominent alum of Barely Famous has also ventured into acting. Notable roles include those in Daddy Issues, Circle, and Tell Me You Love Me.

In May 2024, Erin gave birth to her daughter named Noa Mimi Tikhman, with her partner Simon Tikhman by her side.

Jordan, born in 1985, is involved in the family business as the Style Director for Favorite Daughter. She’s a well-known stylist who has collaborated with celebrities such as Ashley Graham, Aly Raisman, and Lily Aldridge. Alongside her husband Tom Woodger, she takes care of their children Otto and Juni.

Linda has been involved with several high-profile relationships throughout her life. During the 70’s, she dated the iconic Elvis Presley. Later, in 1981, she married Caitlyn Jenner, who later came out as transgender and divorced in 1986. Prior to their marriage, Caitlyn was a parent to Burt Jenner and Cassandra Marino from past relationships. During their union, they had sons Brandon and Brody Jenner. Post-divorce, Caitlyn remarried Kris Jenner and became a stepmother to the Kardashian siblings.

After her divorce from Caitlyn, Linda met David in 1985. Following her split from him in 1986, he confessed his feelings for her and ended his relationship with Rebecca. Linda writes about this in her book “A Little Thing Called Life.” She admits that their union had a rocky start but is no longer ashamed of it. The Hee Haw alum expresses deep conviction that they were meant to be together, despite the challenges they faced. They married in 1991 and co-wrote Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” for The Bodyguard. However, their marriage ended in 2005.

In my world, I’m not just Brandon Jenner, but Linda and Caitlyn’s eldest son who was fortunate enough to call David my stepfather. Growing up, David was a significant figure in our lives, consistently present and incredibly dedicated to his career. He was so engrossed in his professional pursuits that we often found him busy, yet passionate beyond measure.

David and I shared an unusual bond as stepfamily, and it’s safe to say that he was, and still is, a man with a clear focus on his career. Our lives intertwined in 2005 when we starred together in the reality TV series ‘The Princes of Malibu’, alongside Spencer Pratt from The Hills.

Sadly, Linda and David’s marriage didn’t last long, but our bond has endured. In fact, he graciously attended my record release party for “Burning Ground” in 2016 and expressed his support for my 2024 song “The Feels” on Instagram, saying ‘Love this!!!’

Today, I’m a husband to the wonderful Cayley Jenner, with whom I share beautiful twins Bo and Sam, as well as our daughter Joan. I also have a daughter named Eva from my previous marriage to Leah James.

Brody, who is Linda’s youngest son together with Caitlyn, is a well-known figure on various reality TV shows. He starred in “The Princes of Malibu,” and also appeared on “The Hills,” its revival “The Hills: New Beginnings,” and “Bromance.” Additionally, he made guest appearances on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”

Much like his brother Brandon, Brody seems to have maintained a close relationship with David. In July 2024, Brody shared a video of his daughter Honey, and David commented on it saying, “She is sooo darn cute!!!”

Sara and Erin have spoken about their experiences watching David step into the role of a father figure for Brody and Brandon.

In a 2019 episode of Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson’s podcast, Sibling Revelry, Sara stated that while their father was indeed a parent, he wasn’t raising them specifically. Instead, he was taking care of Brandon and Brody.

David acknowledged in a 2020 interview with People that he missed out on a significant part of his children’s lives because he didn’t raise them directly. He admitted that the geographical challenges were difficult, but it was a choice he regretted. Despite his best efforts, which at times were less than perfect due to his busy work schedule, he couldn’t change the past.

Erin mentioned that after some open conversations, they’ve managed to improve their relationship. According to her, they collectively decided that they are all on the same side, having felt angry towards each other in the past. They have since forgiven one another and strive to function as a family just like any other family.

In terms of the narrative surrounding David and Yolanda Hadid’s encounter, it seems Mohamed Hadid acted as a cupid.

Mohamed Hadid, who shares children Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and Anwar Hadid with his ex-wife from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, revealed this in an interview with Vanity Fair back in 2017. He expressed that David has turned out to be a wonderful stepfather to his daughters, calling it a blessing.

David and Yolanda tied the knot in 2011, and their relationship was showcased on her Bravo series. However, after four years of marriage, they decided to part ways, finalizing their divorce in 2017.

Since then, Yolanda has been engaged to Joseph Jingoli. In her book Believe Me: My Battle With the Invisible Disability of Lyme Disease, she hinted at her battle with Lyme disease potentially impacting her marriage with David. She wrote that he might be growing impatient with her recovery process.

However, David has disputed this claim, stating in 2015 that he stood by Yolanda’s side “to the best of my ability as she battled with the complexities of her Lyme diagnosis.” But if you ask him about the reasons behind their separation, he prefers not to discuss it.

In David Foster: Off the Record, he clarified, “The fact of the matter is that was not the reason I left. It was for a different reason, which I will never disclose, but it had nothing to do with her being sick.

While married to Yolanda, David took on the role of stepfather to their children Gigi, Bella, and Anwar. It appears that Gigi maintains a relationship with David’s daughter, Erin.

The creator of “Nobody Wants This” mentioned during a September 2024 episode of “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” that Gigi actually messaged him the previous night, stating she was beginning to watch the show. “The parents get divorced, but the kids don’t,” he explained.

Regarding Erin’s relationship with Yolanda, she added, “I don’t interact as much with her as I do with the kids, since it’s the parents who got divorced.”

Apart from her success on the runway, Gigi is also the founder of Guest in Residence, a cashmere knitwear brand. She shares a daughter named Khai with her former partner and One Direction member Zayn Malik. More recently, she has been romantically linked to Bradley Cooper.

After parting ways with Yolanda, David has also had friendly interactions with Gigi and Bella, just like when he cheered them on at a 2016 fashion show. He affectionately referred to this moment by captioning a photo of them kissing him on the cheek as “Step-Love” and using the hashtag “#theykilledit.”

In 2018, David and Bella also exchanged hugs when they unexpectedly met at the Met Gala, where he was making his red carpet debut with Katharine.

Previously, Anwar was in a two-year relationship with Dua Lipa, which ended in 2021. Since then, there have been whispers about him dating Sophia Piccirilli for over two years now.

Katharine and David first began their friendship in a non-romantic manner, as they met when she was a contestant on American Idol in 2006, while he served as one of the show’s mentors. However, after 11 years, following her divorce from Nick Cokas and his separation from Yolanda, rumors about their relationship started to circulate. Despite initially trying to keep their dating life private, Katharine and David eventually became engaged in 2018. They were married in London in 2019 and welcomed a son named Rennie two years later. The couple is not worried about the opinions of others regarding their 34-year age difference. In an interview on Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy Podcast in 2023, Katharine expressed that while people may initially judge their relationship, she is happy with their love story and that’s all that truly matters to her.

In February 2021, David and Katharine became parents to their son Rennie. His budding drumming talent suggests he may have inherited his parents’ musical prowess.

David posted a video of Rennie, then just two years old, playing the drums, captioned “Progress,” with the suggestion that it might be time for some formal lessons.

Despite traveling for their tours, Katharine treasures the ordinary moments spent at home. She said, “I adore everyday, simple things like collecting your child from school. To me, that’s delightful because he says, ‘You’re back!
