Her mother, Susan, seemingly does nothing to halt this treatment. Simultaneously, Penny is seen accompanying the gang to purchase a comic book for her nephew, suggesting she has a good relationship with that side of her family.

After that incident, Penny manages to divert her thoughts from her family for a while. It’s not until Season 3 that she encounters her father again, as he visits town. To please him, she feigns a relationship with Leonard, but maintaining this charade proves challenging. Eventually, the truth surfaces, which helps Penny strengthen her bond with her father. By the time she and Leonard get married, he wholeheartedly supports her decisions. In fact, when their official wedding takes place, he plans to accompany the entire family to California.

An Important Face Is Missing From the Crowd at Leonard and Penny’s Wedding

In Season 10, when Leonard and Penny celebrate their love, many important people attend, including Leonard’s estranged parents. Sheldon’s mother, Mary, is also there, showing her support for her son’s friends. A surprising guest is Penny’s troubled brother, Randall, who has a history of working in meth labs and run-ins with the law. The series The Big Bang Theory reveals that Randall hails from Nebraska, but manages to get permission to attend his sister’s wedding. However, the conversation often steers clear of mentioning Lisa, Penny’s other sibling.
