3 Quirks All For One Could Have Used to Become Unstoppable

The manga “My Hero Academia” by Kohei Horikoshi has reached its conclusion, and the final season of the anime is approaching. This series captures the essence of the Shonen genre with its high-octane action and intricate backstory. What makes it special is the idea of Quirks – extraordinary powers that have spawned a multitude of heroes and villains. Of all these characters, none are as fearsome as the primary antagonist, All For One, whose formidable Quirk, the power to seize or transfer other Quirks, sets him apart as a significant adversary.

All For One possesses a unique talent called Quirk that lets him swipe the abilities of others and keep them stored within himself. This gives him access to a wide variety of powers, making it hard to predict which one he might use next. He can employ multiple Quirks simultaneously to overpower his adversaries. His talent held sway over the nation for many years until All Might emerged as a contender and eventually defeated him. The show has demonstrated that All For One utilized numerous potent Quirks, but there are three specific ones that could have made him even more formidable. These Quirks would either have expanded his reach or granted him defensive capabilities, potentially making him impossible to stop.

1) Ectoplasm’s Clones

In the anime “My Hero Academia,” Ectoplasm is a Pro Hero and an instructor at U.A. High School. What sets him apart in these roles is his extraordinary ability, known as Clones. As the name implies, this power enables him to create numerous duplicates of himself. These copies, however, are not ordinary; they function collectively like a hive mind, serving as extensions of Ectoplasm himself. This unique feature allows him to supervise numerous students all at once. He can generate approximately 30 to 36 clones concurrently, which represents his maximum capacity.

If All For One had obtained a Quirk that allowed him to create numerous copies of himself, each having access to his vast collection of stolen abilities, he would have been extremely hard to defeat, as the multiple versions could essentially form an army. This increased power would make All For One more dangerous than ever in the series. However, Ectoplasm’s clones possess a significant vulnerability: they disintegrate upon receiving a powerful strike. Since many heroes are capable of such attacks, neutralizing these clones wouldn’t be overly challenging. Nonetheless, the collective consciousness aspect of this Quirk could have significantly improved All For One’s intelligence network, enabling him to strategize and execute his malicious plans with even greater accuracy.

2) Twice’s Double

One of the standout antagonists in “My Hero Academia” is Jin Bubaigawara, more commonly known as Twice. He posed a major danger to both heroes and civilians due to his part in many deceitful acts. His special power, Double, enables him to generate a replica of whatever he chooses, whether it’s living or non-living, with the same characteristics as the original item. Twice often employed this ability to create copies of himself, but this practice unfortunately resulted in profound psychological distress. Unlike Ectoplasm’s clones, Twice’s duplicates possessed their own thoughts, which caused significant identity crises when multiple instances of him started asserting they were the genuine article.

Obtaining Twice’s duplicating ability by All For One would have significantly increased his threat level. Unlike Ectoplasm’s clones, whose use of the original’s powers is questionable, Twice’s duplicates might be capable of utilizing all of All For One’s stolen Quirks fully. This could have given him the power to amplify his abilities and reach multiple times, generating numerous self-replicas, each equipped with destructive powers independently.

In the series, we never see All For One making an attempt to seize Twice’s quirk. This could be due to the fact that he considered Twice as a trusted member of the League of Villains, someone highly esteemed by Shigaraki. Taking Twice’s quirk might have disrupted his broader strategy of nurturing Shigaraki as his genuine successor and extension, a potential disruption All For One probably thought was unwarranted.

3) Tokoyami’s Dark Shadow

Among a handful of pupils from Class 1-A in the series “My Hero Academia,” Fumikage Tokoyami stands out due to his Quirk’s immense power. His Quirk, Dark Shadow, grants him the ability to conjure a shadowy being that is faithful to him and can be manifested whenever he desires. The potency of Dark Shadow amplifies in dim light, growing stronger as the surrounding shadows expand. During the climactic war, Tokoyami displayed the full extent of Dark Shadow’s power against All For One, an attack so powerful that even the Demon Lord himself was taken aback and brought to the verge of defeat. If not for All For One using the Rewind drug bullet, he might have been defeated then.

Observing Dark Shadow’s immense power, All For One couldn’t hide his admiration and seriously contemplated taking its Quirk. But the ticking clock of his rewinding physique compelled him to shift focus. If he had stolen Dark Shadow, it would have been either an impregnable shield or a catastrophic attack capable of annihilating foes with a single strike. Paired with Twice’s Double Quirk, Dark Shadow would have made All For One virtually invincible, enabling his clones to be safeguarded by the Quirk and launch lethal attacks, significantly swaying the course of battle in his favor.
