There appears to be strong evidence that a remake of “Persona 4” might indeed be true, as voice actor Yuri Lowenthal has mentioned he won’t reprise his role as Yosuke in the game, despite having done so in the original version. While Atlus hasn’t officially announced the “Persona 4 Remake”, there have been numerous leaks suggesting it, leading many to believe that an official announcement could happen on June 8th during the Xbox Showcase, with a potential release date in early 2026. However, this is still speculation as neither Atlus nor Xbox has confirmed anything officially, but their recent collaborations indicate that it’s possible.
Yuri Lowenthal is recognized for portraying various characters, one being Yosuke Hanamura in ‘Persona 4’. In a recent statement, Lowenthal expressed that he was not invited to reprise his role in the remake, even though he had advocated fiercely for it. Although it may seem unusual not to have Lowenthal rejoin the cast, Atlus opted for a fresh voice cast in their 2024 release of ‘Persona 3’ remake.
For those frequently inquiring, I regret to inform you that I won’t be reprising my role as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake. I’ve asked, even pleaded, but it appears they have no plans for my return.

Earlier this year, singer Shihoko Hirata subtly hinted at the possibility of a remake for Persona 4. Moreover, Atlus registered a new website domain before announcing Persona 3 Reload. While Atlus hasn’t officially confirmed it yet, all signs seem to indicate that we may be getting a remake of Persona 4.
Initially launched in 2008, there’s been a long-standing desire among fans for a comprehensive remake of the popular game, “Persona 4”. Although it has always had a dedicated fanbase, “Persona 5” significantly expanded its reach to a broader audience. With the upcoming “Persona 4 Remake”, many are thrilled, but this development may push back the release of “Persona 6” more than initially expected.
Fans might anticipate similar enhancements in the remake of “Persona 4” as Atlus provided in “Persona 3 Reload”. Potential upgrades include revamped graphics, refined gameplay mechanics, and potentially additional content that aligns with the original narrative. New voice actors could be introduced, starting at least with Yosuke’s character.
