Brad Pitt Breaks Silence on Finalizing Angelina Jolie Divorce

Brad Pitt is looking at his divorce in the rearview mirror.

In December, after an intense and prolonged legal dispute lasting eight years, the divorce between the F1 actor (Brad Pitt) and Angelina Jolie was officially settled. However, it doesn’t suggest that he is experiencing any sense of ease regarding this matter.

In an interview with GQ published on May 28, Brad, aged 61, expressed that he didn’t view the divorce as a significant matter. Instead, he described it as “something naturally evolving” and added that it was “just a legal conclusion.

Angelina Jolie, who is the mother of children Maddox (age 23), Pax (age 21), Zahara (age 20), Shiloh (age 19), and twins Vivienne and Knox (ages 16) with Brad Pitt, first filed for divorce from Pitt, famously known for his role in ‘Fight Club,’ back in 2016. However, a number of legal disputes delayed the finalization of their divorce. In December, Angelina’s lawyer confirmed that they had reached a settlement to officially conclude their marriage.

Approximately eight years ago, Angelina initiated divorce proceedings from Mr. Pitt, as attorney James Simon stated in a declaration made to NBC News on December 31. Since then, she and the children have vacated all shared properties with Mr. Pitt, and her primary concern has been seeking tranquility and healing for their family. This statement represents a single aspect of an extended process that began eight years ago.

He added, “Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”

Regarding Brad, being in a relationship with Ines de Ramon, it’s not surprising that his personal family issues are often made public. Over time, he has grown accustomed to dealing with the inconveniences this situation brings.

He shared with GQ, “My private life often makes headlines.” He added, “It’s been a topic in the media for three decades. To be precise, either my personal life or aspects of it have been the subject. It’s been a persistent distraction I’ve had to manage, whether it’s been minor or major, as I focus on what truly matters in my life. Essentially, it’s been a recurring drain or misuse of time that I choose not to let consume me.

As an ardent admirer, let me confess, I’m at a loss for words. Mostly, I find myself enveloped… My existence is quite insular, one could say. It carries an undeniable sense of comfort and warmth, much like a cozy nest. This tranquility emanates from my cherished friendships, romantic connections, familial bonds, and self-awareness, creating a sphere that occasionally gets nudged by the occasional flutter of uncertainty, similar to a gentle fly hovering nearby.

Angelina Jolie developed a deep affection for Cambodia during the filming of the 2001 movie, Tomb Raider. Later on, she traveled to Battambang, a rural town, with the intention of adopting her first child.

Later on, she shared with Vanity Fair that she didn’t feel a strong connection with any of them until she encountered Maddox, born on August 5, 2001, who was suspended from the ceiling in a box. Upon seeing him, she felt an immediate bond and started crying profusely.

Initially, at age 26, the woman took on the role of a single parent for her oldest child. However, once she started dating Brad Pitt later on, he decided to initiate the adoption process for that same child too.

Because of his curiosity about his mother’s profession, when Angelina took on directing the 2017 film First They Killed My Father, which was based on her friend Loung Ung’s book detailing the Cambodian genocide under the Khmer Rouge regime, Maddox decided to take on the role of executive producer. He explained this decision to People magazine by saying, “I wanted to lend a hand wherever I could.” About his boss, or mother as he calls her, he said she is “entertaining, amusing, and a joy to work with.” In his words, “She’s amazing.

Following his biochemistry studies at Yonsei University in South Korea, a decision his mother expressed great satisfaction with, Maddox attended a White House state dinner in April 2023. This event was graciously hosted by President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, who welcomed South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife, First Lady Kim Keon Hee.

In 2003, on November 29, “For three-and-a-half years of his life, he resided in a single location, within a solitary room, and slept on this small iron bed with twenty other children. He had no personal choices or freedom during those years,” Angelina shared with MSN in 2007, recounting Pax’s early experiences growing up in an orphanage situated outside Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

As I’ve welcomed Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh into my household, I find myself in an unexpectedly liberating environment with newfound siblings and parents. He, being the youngest, is discovering English, displaying a charming blend of affection and mischief as he embraces his newfound freedom. A little wild and unpredictable, he’s a lively, spirited addition to our family. Yet, beneath that energy lies a tough-as-nails, remarkable little individual.

In terms of his family business, Pax lent his voice to the character Yoo in Angelina’s 2016 animated film “Kung Fu Panda 3” and worked as a set photographer on “First They Killed My Father.” Later, he accompanied his mother to the 2018 Golden Globes.

Apart from that, he was instrumental in adorning Atelier Jolie – a creative fashion hub and tailoring business owned by Angelina in New York City. Additionally, he spent time within the assistant director team on the Italian production set of her upcoming movie titled Without Blood.

According to Angelina, speaking about her collaboration with Pax and Maddox to People magazine, she expressed that when a film crew is functioning optimally, it resembles a large family, making it feel completely normal.

3-year-old Maddox joined Angelina at the orphanage in Hawassa, Ethiopia, where she encountered her eldest daughter Zahara, born on January 8, 2005. “Mad adores her,” the actress shared with Anderson Cooper later on. “When Zahara arrived home, she was already seven months old. For Maddox, it felt like having a tiny pet he could just cradle and observe.

Just like her siblings, Zahara shows keen interest across various aspects of her mother’s career. She’s walked red carpets, launched a charitable jewelry line called the Zahara Collection in partnership with Robert Procop in 2019, and accompanied her mom on visits to Syrian refugee camps as part of their work together with the UNHCR.

In August 2022, Angelina felt emotional as she sent Zahara to Atlanta’s Spelman College (she mentioned in an Instagram post that she hadn’t cried yet but hoped to keep it together). Later, she went back to the college for its homecoming celebrations.

As a devoted follower, I’ve had the privilege of being part of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in my school since 2023. I’ve also had the incredible opportunity to travel with a renowned actress on multiple occasions to Washington, D.C. In February 2022, I stood by her side when she delivered a heartfelt speech advocating for the renewal of the Violence Against Women Act. More recently, in 2023, we met with lawmakers together, pushing for the passage of the Justice for All Reauthorization Act of 2022.

Ever since the joyful announcement of their pregnancy, I’ve been on cloud nine, eagerly awaiting every update about my beloved couple, Angelina and Brad. The day finally arrived when they welcomed their precious bundle of joy, Shiloh, at Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund, Namibia, on May 27, 2006. In a heartfelt MSN interview, Angelina described her as “a beacon of light and love, a sweet little soul, with an infectious sense of humor.” She went on to say that she sees glimpses of herself in Shiloh—trouble seems to follow wherever she goes!

At the 2014 premiere of Unbroken, Shiloh made her first appearance on the red carpet. Since then, she has graced events for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, The Breadwinner, Dumbo, and the 2018 National Board of Review Awards Gala, as well as the 2021 Eternals red carpet, where she donned her mother’s Dior gown.

Angelina expressed on Daily Pop at TopMob, “Wow, go ahead and wear it! In fact, make it look even better than me!” She was referring to her encouraging her children to borrow clothes from her wardrobe. “Take whatever you want,” she said, “It’s your time now.” So, in essence, Angelina identifies as the mom who is happy for her kids to take and rock her outfits.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve noticed that alongside her admirable humanitarian work, Shiloh appears to be dipping her toes into the world of entertainment. She can often be found honing her skills at Los Angeles’ bustling Millennium Dance Complex.

In 2024, when she turned 18, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt decided to petition a Los Angeles court to drop the “Jolie-Pitt” part from her surname, choosing instead to be known as just Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. According to reports from TopMob News, it’s been revealed that Shiloh took this legal action independently, with her own attorney and at her own expense.

At the 2008 Independent Spirit Awards, Angelina first showed off her pregnancy. Later, on July 12, 2008, in Nice, France, she gave birth to Knox and then his sister Vivienne. The family moved into their Château Miraval, where they found themselves in a bit of a whirlwind but were enjoying every moment, as Angelina shared with People magazine shortly after. Shiloh and Zahara enjoyed picking out the twins’ clothes and helping to change and hold them.

In honor of Brad’s grandfather, Hal Knox Hillhouse, Angelina pointed out that “Knox shares many similarities with Brad, both emotionally and physically.” Certainly, during their appearance at the 2015 British motorcycle Grand Prix, there was a strong likeness between them.

Similar to their elder siblings Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh, Knox also made a minor appearance in the 2016 film “Kung Fu Panda 3“, providing the voice for Ku Ku. As Jolie shared with ET, they were somewhat reserved. “They aren’t particularly keen on acting,” she noted. “However, I didn’t want them to miss out on this chance. They participated and had a great time with it.

In a statement given to TopMob News, Angelina mentioned that Knox, her younger fraternal twin who shares a birthday with just a minute difference, resembles her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, in his unassuming nature and dedication to supporting other artists. She described him as deeply thoughtful, sincere about theatre, and diligent in learning how to make meaningful contributions.

Despite impressively playing the younger version of Elle Fanning’s Aurora in the 2014 film “Maleficent”, this high school student has since shifted her focus towards roles behind the scenes. As Angelina Jolie noted at the time, she was astonishingly good to the point that she went back and hit her mark flawlessly – it was truly impressive!

Angelina mentioned that Vivienne was the one who motivated her to assist in adapting Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film “The Outsiders” for Broadway. As a result, the teenager ended up volunteering as an assistant to her producer mother on the Tony-winning production.

Angelina shared with People that Vivienne, known as Vivienne Jolie in the playbill, will correct her. “She’ll remind me,” Angelina explained, “‘Haven’t you seen the memo? We need to do this, we have to go through this,'” said Angelina. She added, “Vivienne has been an incredibly diligent assistant. She approaches her tasks with utmost seriousness.
