In the soap opera Emmerdale, Aaron Dingle (played by Danny Miller) is facing a significant dilemma. He’s caught between his fiancé, John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), and his former husband – John’s half-brother Robert (Ryan Hawley), who has recently reappeared.
At the wedding of Aaron and John, Robert abruptly interrupted the event with the intention of halting the nuptials. However, in a momentary mental image, John envisioned Robert taking Aaron away forcefully. As a result, Aaron retaliated by punching Robert, causing him to fall to the floor. Overwhelmed, Robert snatched a bottle of alcohol and quickly departed the scene.
Trying to continue with his promises to John, Aaron found it hard to find words, and quickly left the town hall.
At the bridge, Aaron confronted Robert about his unexpected arrival ruining his special day. To this, Robert responded with a hint of familiarity, “You’re aware of the reason.
“Because every single second I spent inside, I never stopped being in love with you.”
It was discovered that Robert reconsidered his initial stance on Max Parker’s (Luke Posner) confession regarding the demise of rapist Kris Mochrie (Lee). Instead, he chose to explore this new information to aid in resolving his own homicide case.
Instead of going to his probation appointment that day, Robert decided to look for Aaron, who was taken aback by the brash assertion from Robert, who confidently claimed he would return for him.

On that particular day, instead of showing up for his probation hearing, Robert opted to locate Aaron, who was left bewildered when cocky Robert declared he would eventually reappear.
Afterward, Robert affirmed Aaron’s postponed wedding, recalling a famous phrase from their past relationship, and said to him, “Be careful not to have second thoughts! You might give me the impression that I fell in love with a coward.
As Aaron walked off, he halted upon seeing Robert, who remarked that Aaron would not have sought him out if their feelings hadn’t lingered.
Or:
Aaron was on his way when Robert made him pause, suggesting that Aaron wouldn’t have come looking for him if there wasn’t still some affection left.
Aaron pointed out that it was actually Robert, not himself, who severed ties and brought an end to their marriage. And Robert acknowledged that he now wished he hadn’t made such a choice.
Robert planted a kiss on him, and for a moment, Aaron returned the gesture before gently pulling away. However, just moments later, Aaron found himself back in Robert’s embrace, returning the kiss again.
Chas Dingle, played by Lucy Pargeter, unexpectedly found the duo and grew angry with Robert. Despite sympathizing with Aaron’s predicament, she advised him to reach John quickly to prevent Robert from exposing their kissed secret.
John and Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) searched for Aaron but instead discovered Robert standing by the grave of their father, Jack (Clive Hornby).
Robert displayed a particularly witty demeanor during their initial conversation with John, as John needled him about Aaron having moved on.
In response to Robert calling John a mere temporary solution or quick fix, a dispute ensued between the two, with Aaron stepping in at the right moment to intervene and calm the situation down.
If given an opportunity to reveal his kiss, Robert decided to remain silent. However, when John went back to the venue hoping that Aaron would rejoin him, Robert encouraged Aaron to make a choice between the two of them.
“I’m not asking you to choose me. I’m asking you to choose us.”
What will Aaron decide? And will killer medic John’s crimes remain concealed in the meantime?
Regardless of Aaron’s decision, Star Hawley hints that Robert’s return involves more than just rekindling a romantic relationship.
He revealed that we’ve captured some fantastic footage, and Robert’s comeback involves much more than simply unlocking a door.
There’s a significant amount of tension and turmoil, with plenty of disagreements. Both Aaron and John face challenging situations, and the fact that Aaron has returned impacts numerous individuals within the village in meaningful ways.
