According to Bloober Team, who developed Silent Hill 2, they are collaborating with Konami to deliver an authentic PS5 Pro upgrade for their outstanding survival horror remake. In simpler terms, they’ve stated through Eurogamer that they are working alongside the publisher on a solution and will provide further details as soon as they become available.
At approximately the same time as the launch of the PS5 Pro towards the end of last year, it was announced that Silent Hill 2 would be an enhanced game for the PS5 Pro. Yet, the promised update never materialized, and instead, it turned out that the PS5 version performed worse when played on a PS5 Pro. Players reported a noticeable “shimmering” effect, which consistently appeared on PS5 Pro and proved to be quite distracting during gameplay.
Since last November 2024, Bloober Team has acknowledged persistent technical issues that were supposed to be addressed with updates, but the promised PS5 Pro enhancements have not been realized. Six months after remaining silent on the matter, Bloober Team now confirms they are still working to resolve these ongoing issues.
