Gundam Fans in Japan Making the World Jealous With Latest Tourism Collab

Bandai Namco Filmworks, which is made up of both Bandai and Sunrise Studios, has formed a partnership with Raku Spa and Gokurakuyu, a Japanese spa chain. This alliance unveiled an intriguing promotional image showcasing the characters from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, including Machu, Nyaan, Shuji, Challia, and Xavier, all sporting unique kimono-style spa gowns. The partnership’s catchy, witty slogan is, “Is Bathing Truly Free,” a nod to Machu’s thoughts on freedom and his longing to swim in Earth’s waters. This unique collaboration between Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX and Raku Spa offers exclusive merchandise and menu items that guests can enjoy.

In addition to our regular items, both merchandise and menu dishes will feature brand new artwork inspired by the popular series, “Gundam GQuuuuuuX”. Starting from June 19th, 2025, until July 15th, 2025, some of our spa locations will be transformed with exclusive decorations based on this theme. These changes will include themed installations in specific spa spots. However, the exact appearance of these unique merchandise and menu items is yet to be revealed.

Please note that only a select number of Raku Spa and Gokurakuyu chain locations will offer the “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX” content. It’s important to mention that these spa franchises are predominantly found in Asia, with only a few branches located outside Japan.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX’s Impact and Other Collaborations

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX intends to join forces with various locations in Japan, starting with the Tokyu Kabukicho Tower. Previously, Sunrise had announced a cooperation, which will debut a week before the Raku Spa collaboration on June 12th, 2025. The Tokyu Kabukicho Tower partnership offers unique Gundam GQuuuuuuX themed food and souvenirs for purchase at the tower. The exclusive merchandise encompasses items such as sweaters, miniature figurines, bags, folders, keychains, and posters inspired by characters and mechs from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. The special meals are designed to resemble the series’ characters and robots, including a beverage adorned with the antennas of the GQuuuuuuX. This collaboration at the Tokyu Kabukicho Tower will continue until June 30th, 2025.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX represents the latest addition to the esteemed Gundam series, generating buzz due to its creation alongside Studio Khara, known for their work on Neon Genesis Evangelion. Kicking off the year was a prologue movie, titled “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-“, comprising the first three episodes. This film enjoyed success at Japanese box offices and was later screened in North America by GKIDS Films. With twelve episodes planned, the series is set to conclude around the last week of June.

Gundam GQuuuuuux is set to appear at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California, coinciding with the finale’s broadcast. The Peacock Theater near the Convention Center will host a special event for Gundam GQuuuuuux during the convention. Notable attendees include director Kazuya Tsurumaki, series composer Yoji Enokido, and voice actress Tomoyo Kurosawa (who portrays Amate “Machu” Yuzuriha in the show). The event will kick off with a movie screening from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a talk and performance segment that will conclude at 2:30 PM.
