One Piece Live Action Chopper Revealed and Season 2 Release in 2026

As anticipation grows for the second installment of One Piece’s live-action Netflix series, the streaming giant has recently shared another intriguing detail that is sure to make fans eagerly await the arrival of season 2.

During Netflix’s TUDUM Live event, it was unveiled that the cast of One Piece gave a sneak peek at what’s in store for the eagerly awaited second installment, as they appeared on stage.

Moreover, they thrilled fans further by revealing that the famous manga character Tony Tony Chopper would be part of the TV series. Notably, Mikaela Hoover has been cast to voice this iconic character.

I, too, am contributing to the creation of this unique character by handling the facial capturing process, thereby infusing life into the intriguing human-reindeer hybrid.

The identity of the actor lending their voice to Chopper had been kept under wraps, but we’ve finally learned who it is for season 2.

You can see the announcement video below.

Initially peeking at Chopper, it was clear that the second season of One Piece is set to drop, with a planned launch date in the year 2026.

Hoover is widely recognized for her roles as a voice actress and motion capture artist, particularly as Floor the rabbit in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3. Beyond this, she has also appeared on television shows such as 2 Broke Girls, Happy Endings, and Lucifer.

She shared with TUDUM that what intrigued her about playing Chopper was the struggle between his aloofness and immense kindness. He constantly strives to conceal his feelings and project a tough image, yet beneath that facade, he’s really quite tender-hearted. His affection just can’t be contained.

In each of us, there’s a hint of the selfless protector, like Chopper, who yearns for affection and acceptance. We often take significant steps to shield those we care about from harm. His inherent goodness serves as a reminder of the noble aspects within our own character.

Apart from that, Hoover will appear in the forthcoming DC Studios Superman movie and also the second installment of Netflix’s series titled Beef.

I’m thrilled to share that it’s not just Hoover who’s joining the cast of One Piece for season 2! We’ve got a host of fresh faces joining our crew, such as Charithra Chandran taking on the role of Miss Wednesday, Joe Manganiello stepping into Mr 0, Katey Sagal bringing Dr Kureha to life, and Lera Abova embodying the character of Miss All Sunday. Can’t wait to see them in action!

In addition to the existing cast, we have some new faces joining us. Mark Harelik will portray Dr Hiriluk, Sophia Anne Caruso takes on Miss Goldenweek, Yonda Thomas is Igaram, Sendhil Ramamurthy becomes Nefertari Cobra, Brendan Sean Murray joins as Brogy, Callum Kerr steps into the role of Smoker, Camrus Johnson is Mr 5, and Clive Russell assumes the character of Crocus.

I’m here observing the expanding cast, and among the new additions, Daniel Lasker takes on the role of Mr 9, while David Dastmalchian steps into the shoes of Mr 3. Jazzara Jaslyn is now Miss Valentine, Julia Rehwald becomes Tashigi, Rob Colletti transforms into Wapol, Ty Keogh assumes Dalton’s character, Werner Coetser portrays Dorry, Rigo Sanchez takes on Dragon, James Hiroyuki Liao embodies Ipponmatsu, Mark Penwill steps into the part of Chess, and Anton Jeftha joins us as KM.

Absolutely, One Piece wouldn’t feel the same without our main characters. Iñaki Godoy is back as Monkey D Luffy, Mackenyu reprises his role as Zoro, Emily Rudd continues her portrayal of Nami, Jacob Romero plays Usopp, Taz Skylar takes on Sanji, Ilia Isorelys Paulino reappears as Alvida, Jeff Ward returns as Buggy, and Michael Dorman resumes his role as Gold Roger.

Regarding future developments, showrunner Matt Owens had previously dropped some plot hints during his conversation with TUDUM, stating: “When our season 2 writers gathered, we understood how far we would progress and that the character, Dr. Kureha, would play a significant role in this season.

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! Back in our conversations throughout Season 1, remember when Oda mentioned we’d meet Chopper in Season 2? Well, guess what? It’s happening! Moreover, he confirmed that the Straw Hats are venturing into the Grand Line – the very same place we’ve been discussing since the beginning of our adventures. So buckle up, folks! Our journey is about to get even more thrilling!
