Progress continues on the upcoming Marvel TV series tentatively titled “Vision Quest.” This week, not only was T’Nia Miller cast as Jocasta, but rumors surfaced that Emily Hampshire from “Schitt’s Creek” will portray the human version of E.D.I.T.H., the AI developed by Tony Stark in “Spider-Man: Far From Home.” However, today I want to focus on Todd Stashwick from “Star Trek: Picard,” who joined the cast of “Vision Quest” last September. The character he will play has reportedly been unveiled, and it’s an exciting choice drawn from the Marvel Comics library.
For several months, it’s been clear that Stashwick is portraying an assassin who seeks to eliminate Paul Bettany’s Vision due to the technology he holds. If reliable sources like DanielRPK (via Cosmic Marvel) are correct, this assassin will be known as Paladin. Though the name may not ring a bell, this character has a long history, having first appeared in 1978’s Daredevil #150, written by Jim Shooter and illustrated by Carmine Infantino.
Despite not being a true villain, Paladin – whose identity remains undisclosed – often clashes with superheroes in the course of his mercenary work. Daredevil and The Punisher are the ones he frequently encounters in these confrontations. Additionally, Paladin has been part of groups like the Thunderbolts, Defenders, and Wild Pack. Equipped with extraordinary physical abilities such as superhuman strength, endurance, speed, and quick reflexes, he’s also a proficient fighter and marksman.
In the comics, Paladin has had limited appearances, so if Todd Stashwick’s character in “Vision Quest” is indeed Paladin, his fame is set to skyrocket. Instead of being the primary villain, it’s plausible that the MCU’s Paladin could be hired by Jocasta to capture Vision. There have been reports suggesting that Jocasta seeks revenge in “Vision Quest”, possibly for James Spader’s Ultron, who is also returning for this miniseries.

We might not find out about Todd Stashwick’s character in Vision Quest right away, but I’m excited for his unique interpretation of Paladin. Additionally, I can’t wait to see him collaborate with Terry Matalas again, as they have worked together on 12 Monkeys and Star Trek: Picard in the past. Since Emily Hampshire was part of the cast in their previous project, let’s hope she gets a chance to act alongside Stashwick if she indeed joins Vision Quest.
The completely white Vision, who was last spotted in the series ‘WandaVision’ soaring off from WestView following the recovery of his memories by Wanda’s hex, will return to our screens when the series ‘Vision Quest’ debuts in 2026. In addition to Ruaridh Mollica portraying a character named Tucker, Faran Tahir, known for his roles in ’12 Monkeys’ and ‘Iron Man’, is set to reprise his role as Raza.
