Netflix Finally Adds an Action Movie That Subscribers Have Been Begging For

It can be quite annoying when a streaming platform lacks one movie from an entire series, particularly if it’s the first film in a saga. This leaves fans unable to begin the story properly, yet equipped to complete it. For instance, remember when Den of Thieves: Pandora arrived on Netflix earlier this year, and its predecessor followed suit after some delay? Something similar has been happening with the Equalizer series, but luckily for Netflix subscribers, they received the long-awaited addition in early June.

As a devoted cinephile, I’ve found myself engrossed in the action-packed Equalizer trilogy, starring the phenomenal Denzel Washington. Unfortunately, my Netflix journey with this gripping franchise has been a bit confusing. The streaming service has had The Equalizer 2 and The Equalizer 3 for quite some time now, but it seems that the original movie, released in 2014, is nowhere to be found. This means that any viewer looking to follow this series on Netflix will have to bypass the first installment, which is a bit of a letdown for those who want to experience the story in its entirety.

The scenario shifted on Sunday as Netflix initiated the month of June by introducing a multitude of new films. Included among these fresh additions was the movie “The Equalizer“, meaning action enthusiasts can now enjoy the entire trilogy on the same streaming platform.

In simpler terms, “The Equalizer” movie features Denzel Washington portraying Robert McCall, a man who blends his tranquil existence with his perilous past when he notices wrongdoings in his surroundings. Remarkably, Washington and director Antoine Fuqua reunited for both sequels as well.

Coming Soon to Netflix

At the beginning of the month, The Equalizer was one of the standout titles that Netflix introduced, and they’ve got a number of additional titles scheduled for June. Moreover, significant movies such as Barbarian, The Blues Brothers, Now You See Me, and Vertigo were also added to the streaming service on Sunday.

Below, you can check out the full list of Netflix’s June 1st additions.
