Despite Ubisoft’s missteps with projects other than the Assassin’s Creed series, it’s worth remembering the triumph of The Crew Motorfest. Debuting in September 2023 and overshadowed by more prominent releases during its launch, it still managed to break first-week sales records for the franchise.
According to reports from Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, despite ongoing post-launch support, Ubisoft has apparently given the green light for a new game in the series. What makes this news intriguing is that it appears to be a fresh installment rather than a sequel to Motorfest, which was previously rumored to have been in development as DLC for The Crew 2.
It’s still uncertain whether the release of The Crew 4 has been recently approved or not. Therefore, keep an eye out for updates as it might take some time before we hear any official announcement. In the meantime, The Crew Motorfest is currently available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. You can read our review of the initial version here.
The development team behind The Crew 2, known as Ivory Tower, is now focusing on implementing an offline play option. This decision comes in response to legal disputes that arose following the removal of the initial game from sale.
The next The Crew game has been greenlit at Ubisoft.
