Daredevil Born Again Season 2 Teases 4 New Superheroes and Shocking Set Photos

In the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” a fresh superhero steps into the limelight while maintaining the legacy of an old character. Matt Murdock, portrayed by Charlie Cox, remains central to the story, but new and familiar heroes join him. The return of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Tony Dalton’s Swordsman was met with great excitement among fans, as was the introduction of Kamar de los Reyes’ White Tiger. Although there were hopes that Daredevil’s fellow Defenders, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, would reappear in Season 1, this did not happen.

Thankfully, after receiving robust feedback on Season 1 of “Born Again”, Marvel Studios is now busy filming eight additional episodes set to air in March 2026. Already, snapshots from the New York City shoot have surfaced online. These glimpses suggest that Daredevil will persist in his battle against Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, who has recently declared a new enemy of vigilantes following his election as New York mayor and a near-fatal encounter with Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye.

All 4 MCU Superheroes Confirmed for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

It has been verified that three Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) superheroes are returning to aid against Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, and new set images hint at yet another character joining them.

White Tiger

Season 1 of “Daredevil: Born Again” introduced audiences to a fresh Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero, Hector Ayala, who went by the alias White Tiger. Regrettably, despite being found not guilty for an unfortunate accidental killing of a corrupt cop, Ayala was murdered by one of these unscrupulous officers, adorned with a symbol similar to The Punisher.

In a different phrasing: Hector’s niece, Angela Del Toro (played by Camila Rodriguez), was once kidnapped by Muse and rescued by Daredevil. However, it seems she’s embarking on a fresh journey. A recent photo leaked from the ongoing Season 2 filming in New York City shows Rodriguez dressed as the White Tiger during nighttime.

In my perspective, under a common suit, White Tiger concealed his unique persona; it was his enchanted pendant that endowed him with extraordinary powers, traced back to the divine figure of the Tiger God in the comic world. Now, following Hector’s tragic demise, it appears that Angela will assume both the amulet and the White Tiger suit, joining forces to confront Kingpin and seek justice for her late uncle’s murder.

Daredevil

Absolutely, Charlie Cox will once again take the lead in the series Daredevil: Born Again, portraying Matt Murdock, also known as the main character, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante. In the last installment, Daredevil seemed defeated under Kingpin’s control of New York, but after receiving inspiration from Karen Paige, he was gearing up to fight back by organizing his own army.

Previous photos have shown that Daredevil will don a fresh black “Shadowland” suit, which appears to be an overlaid adaptation of his classic red outfit. Fans can speculate this new attire is for stealth purposes as he confronts Kingpin and his Anti-Vigilante Taskforce in a New York City under threat.

Punisher

Previously, Jon Bernthal took on the role of the Punisher again in “Daredevil: Born Again,” working alongside Matt Murdock against Kingpin. However, their alliance resulted in him being imprisoned. Known for his ruthless approach to combating evil, viewers can expect more of this unyielding determination from the Punisher since he has officially been included in Season 2.

In conjunction with his comeback, Bernthal will spearhead a Disney+ Special Presentation next year (likely following Season 2). This production will be co-written by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who is known for directing “King Richard.” The details surrounding The Punisher project remain elusive, but it’s rumored that the antagonist will be a female crime boss.

Jessica Jones

Six long years have passed since I last donned the boots of Jessica Jones, but now, the clamor of fans for my return has been heard. Officially, I am stepping back into the role in the upcoming series, “Daredevil: Born Again.” It’s been over six years since my Netflix show concluded, and yet here we are, ready to revisit the gritty world of Hell’s Kitchen once more. The announcement was made at the 2025 Disney Upfronts presentation, and later, tantalizing glimpses of my MCU return were unveiled through set photos. I can hardly wait to dive back into the life of Jessica Jones.

In a shift of alliances, the once partnered vigilante investigator, who was also a Defender alongside Matt Murdock, appears poised to join his resistance against Kingpin. The upcoming events surrounding Jones’ character promise an interesting tale, as it has been approximately ten years since her last appearance within the storyline.

BONUS:) Swordsman

Chances of Appearing: 90%

As a dedicated cinephile, I can’t help but feel a thrill at the prospect of more superheroes potentially joining the fray in “Born Again” Season 2. The four confirmed heroes are already a formidable force, but rumors abound that Tony Dalton’s Swordsman, who made his debut in “Hawkeye” and reappeared in Season 1 of “Born Again”, is all but guaranteed to return next year. The prospect of seeing him back in action against Kingpin is nothing short of exhilarating!

In New York, where vigilantism was forbidden, Jack Duquesne – a prominent and affluent socialite – was apprehended by the Anti-Vigilante Taskforce and incarcerated in the Kingpin’s underground prison. At the close of Season 1, he found himself confined alongside the recently freed Punisher, potentially hinting at their joint escape plan in the future.

BONUS:) Echo

Chances of Appearing: 50%

Alaqua Cox’s character, Maya Lopez, also known as Echo, shares a complex past with Wilson Fisk that is more intricate than anyone else’s, as she was raised as his adoptive daughter. Initially, she played a significant role in his criminal organization, but she later managed to escape and embarked on her own path of vigilantism following the release of her Disney+ series. This journey has been marked by six extraordinary abilities that she now possesses.

After previously clashing with Daredevil when she was working for Kingpin, her recent shift in allegiance makes her an ideal choice to join his resistance group. Although it’s unfortunate that Echo Season 2 might not happen, the Born Again storyline could provide a means for her character to progress within the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of a joint vigilante effort.

BONUS:) Luke Cage

Chances of Appearing: 25%

The Season 1 finale hinted at a possible Defenders reunion in the near future because Daredevil is assembling his team of vigilantes. With Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones now officially part of Marvel Studios alongside Daredevil and Punisher, fans are eagerly anticipating that Luke Cage will join them soon.

The character played by Mike Colter, Luke Cage, concluded with an interesting twist, as he seized control over Harlem’s Paradise (a nightclub involved in illicit activities). This move is intended to help him keep a watchful eye and disrupt the criminal network more effectively. However, due to the complexity of these storylines, it might be challenging to develop them further as subplots in Season 2, potentially limiting the appearance of Luke Cage amidst an already crowded schedule.

BONUS: Iron Fist

As a fervent admirer, I can affirm that Danny Rand, portrayed by Finn Jones, is a skilled martial artist who acquired the potent Iron Fist powers. In our beloved two-season series on Netflix, he demonstrated the might of this extraordinary ability. However, while showrunner Dario Scardapane has hinted at Iron Fist’s potential comeback, it appears that such an event may not occur imminently, considering the lukewarm reception his Netflix show received.

Scardapane raised questions about a “complete Defenders reunion” occurring in the near future, implying that Jones could be the sole Defender returning this season. This ambiguity might hint at potential appearances of Luke Cage and Iron Fist in subsequent “Born Again” seasons.
