In the first season of Amazon Prime Video’s new teen drama series, “Motorheads,” character Caitlyn Torres (played by Melissa Collazo) grapples with a difficult decision: should she focus on restoring her father’s classic racing car or navigate an unyielding love triangle. On one side stands Curtis Young (Uriah Shelton), who shares a passion for engineering with Caitlyn but whose home circumstances keep them apart. On the opposite side is Kiara Gibbons (Johnna Dias-Watson), who has feelings for Caitlyn yet finds herself entangled in an abusive relationship with another boy. As season 1 of “Motorheads” concludes, it remains uncertain whom Caitlyn will ultimately choose.
As a captivated viewer of the motor-themed drama, Motorheads, I can’t help but anticipate the possible unfolding of Caitlyn’s tangled love life should there be a second season. The gripping suspense surrounding her romantic entanglement has undeniably played a significant role in the show’s remarkable success on Prime Video. With each passing day since its release, the viewership numbers only continue to soar, increasing the likelihood of a Motorheads Season 2. However, I fervently hope that Caitlyn steers clear of any romantic involvement with either Kiara or Curtis in the event of a continuation, as their love triangles could potentially complicate the narrative even further.
Caitlyn Should Not Be With Curtis Or Kiara In Motorheads Season 2
They Have Chemistry, But It Would End In Tears For Everyone
In the first season of Motorheads, Curtis and Caitlyn have had a bond that feels almost like a genuine relationship. They frequently spend time together in ways that could be interpreted as dates, and in the season finale, Caitlyn makes the move to pursue Curtis by kissing him. However, immediately following this kiss, Curtis discloses a shocking truth: his father, the Ironwood sheriff, is the one responsible for betraying Caitlyn’s father, Christian Maddox (Deacon Phillippe), leading him to leave the family.
In the aftermath of their interaction, Caitlyn is left with a sense of deception and an inability to rely on Curtis or his kin. To make matters worse, Caitlyn initially made it clear to Curtis that she had no intentions of entering a romantic relationship with him. These unstable beginnings suggest that they might find more peace handling their individual issues instead of diving headfirst into a potentially tumultuous relationship.
Things aren’t improving much with Caitlyn’s other love interest, Kiara either. It isn’t until the end of Motorheads season 1 that Kiara openly identifies as queer, causing her to end her relationship and disrupt her personal life. Although there is an obvious attraction between Caitlyn and Kiara, their interactions are limited in season 1. There are many longing glances and amusing exchanges, but they haven’t had much solo time together yet.
It might be wise for Kiara to pause before diving into a new relationship, considering she walked in on Caitlyn kissing Curtis, and it seems they have yet to resolve their issues.
Motorheads Already Proved Why Caitlyn Should Wait Before Being With Anyone
She Got It Right The First Time
In the first installment of Motorheads, Caitlyn made it clear to Curtis that now wasn’t the opportune moment for her to start a new romance, and she was spot-on with her assessment. As the storyline of Motorheads unfolds, we witness Zac Torres (played by Michael Cimino), Caitlyn’s brother, engaging in a high-risk race that could have resulted in the demise of another significant character. To make matters worse, Caitlyn’s uncle, Logan Maddox (portrayed by Ryan Phillippe), along with Zac, assisted Curtis’ elder sibling in executing the largest heist Ironwood has seen in years.
In the closing scenes of season 1 of “Motorheads”, Caitlyn received a mysterious call from an unknown number, potentially her long-lost father. While the love triangle in “Motorheads” certainly adds to its dramatic appeal, I’m hoping that next season, Caitlyn will have some time to untangle her family issues. In essence, Caitlyn, much like the other characters in “Motorheads”, is just a teenager. Here’s wishing she gets to enjoy being a kid as “Motorheads” continues on Prime Video.
