Attention: This information reveals significant plot points from tonight’s EastEnders episode, broadcasted on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Proceed with caution if you wish to avoid spoilers.
In simpler terms, Zack Hudson (played by James Farrar) has found himself in a new plotline on EastEnders following his dramatic car accident last week. This latest storyline involves him confronting his biological son, Barney Mitchell (portrayed by Lewis Bridgeman), about the truth between them.
Last week, the episodes of the BBC One soap wrapped up as Barney, along with his mother Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), adoptive father Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian), and half-brother Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway), returned home following a series of shocking revelations from Zack that left Barney feeling overwhelmed and threatened to take his son away from Walford.
On Monday’s broadcast, Ravi Gulati, portrayed by Aaron Thiara, was shown coming to Zack’s apartment to persuade him to head to work. Upon opening the door, Zack appeared unkempt and reluctantly consented to show up for his scheduled duty.
At work, Zack displayed a bit of defiance towards authority, leading Ravi to give Zack some firm advice regarding his issue with Barney. Ravi advised Zack to be patient and wait for Barney to change, and in the interim, Zack was asked to leave work to clear his thoughts.
As he returned, Zack unexpectedly encountered a distressed Barney, who Zack attempted to console, only for Barney to withdraw abruptly. Later, Barney even pushed aside his friend Avani Nandra-Hart.
While Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) faced intense anger from her fiancé Peter Beale (Thomas Law), it was due to his frustration over their son Jimmy Beale’s severe vision problems. Peter believed that Lauren’s drug use during pregnancy could be responsible for Jimmy’s condition.
After my troubling run-in with Peter, I found myself drawn to unwind at The Queen Vic. However, much to my surprise and dismay, Linda Carter, a fellow cinema lover like myself who also happens to struggle with alcohol, denied me service.

Moving towards Harry’s Barn, Lauren asked for a drink, but Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) denied her request, causing Lauren to become upset. Just then, Zack arrived and suggested she should depart, calming Lauren down.
Or
Lauren headed to Harry’s Barn and requested a drink from Gina Knight (Francesca Henry), who declined. This made Lauren angry, but as Zack came in, he urged her to go, managing to calm her.
At Zack’s apartment, Lauren was inclined to continue drinking, but Zack prevented her and convinced her to stay and converse instead.
In sharing their struggles with Peter and Barney respectively, Lauren and Zack acknowledged feelings of falling short as the parents they aspired to be.
After Zack pointed out how fortunate Lauren’s family was to have her, they embraced warmly and then shared a heartfelt, passionate kiss.
This isn’t going to end well!

Indeed, it’s not a new occurrence that Zack and Lauren have been unfaithful as a duo. Their past indiscretions, notably the one from last year, significantly damaged Zack’s prospects for a lasting marriage with Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty).
It appears that their impending separation might bring an end to Lauren’s aspirations for a future with Peter, as they are headed towards a contentious custody dispute.
