Verdict on The Madame Blanc Mysteries – Series 4
Christmas Special
The story opens as Jean (Lindsay) is summoned for assistance in Caron’s (Gaumond) current case. A puppeteer appears to have been fatally victimized when a suspicious object was secretly placed within his puppet. Meanwhile, Jeremy (Askwith) and Judith (Holderness) uncover their marriage had been orchestrated by a crook posing as a clergyman. Jean and Caron join forces to expose the killer, which in turn reveals hidden truths about the family’s secrets.
This Christmas special offers a heartwarming tale centered around our main characters. Jean and Dom share the holiday spirit, while the entire community rallies to support Jeremy and Judith in their time of trouble. Meanwhile, the mystery unfolds at a leisurely pace, providing an engaging yet less-intense crime experience compared to many others. (3/5)
Beach Club
The story kicks off as Jeremy and Judith stumble upon a man passed out in a boat adrift at sea. Caron seeks assistance from Jean regarding this case. On another front, Uncle Patrick grapples with rising costs and attempts to uncover the reason behind them. As events unfold, the crime takes an unexpected turn when Jean delves deeper into the victim’s past.
This situation presents an engaging puzzle for the duo to unravel, and as usual, there are some humorous subplots. It ties in with a larger sequence of occurrences and demonstrates the community banding together to address smaller issues. This installment serves as a soothing addition to the series and a peaceful continuation of the main storyline.”

Inheritance
In this episode, I find myself delving into a chilling mystery at the antique family’s residence where their cleaner has mysteriously perished. Simultaneously, Jeremy and Judith are caught up in a heart-wrenching situation at the restaurant, assisting an injured individual and caring for Gloria’s beloved pet dog. Meanwhile, my attention is drawn to a call involving a potential investigation, hinting strongly at a heinous crime of murder.
This darkens the murder, making it seem particularly heartless towards the victim. It escalates into a significant crime that demands immediate resolution. Simultaneously, Judith and Jeremy keep the humor flowing, adding comic relief to the show as a whole. (3/5)
Bad Education
In this installment, the museum caretaker encounters an attack after a work of art gets vandalized. Since Jean has some ties with the museum, she delves deeper into the incident which eventually leads back to a disagreement. Meanwhile, a local gangster asks for a favor from Jean, forcing her to temporarily hand over control of her store to him.
The narrative offers an intriguing enigma concerning museum artifacts and provides a lively debate on this subject. Moreover, it includes a humorous subplot that adds a comical touch, creating a more enjoyable reading experience. This maintains the entertaining nature of the series while introducing captivating mysteries to unravel. (3/5)
The Blue Print
In this installment, Jean and Dominic journey to Malta in pursuit of a historical artifact. Unfortunately, the individuals they encounter are assaulted, and the artifact is snatched away. Meanwhile, Trevor takes Dom’s cab for a spin and ends up in an accident, leaving Gloria with the task of unraveling the mystery.
Stepping back into the charming realm of interior design mysteries, I find myself immersed in a fresh setting teeming with quirky conversations. The plot, as always, manages to elicit laughter at just the right moments. Overall, this installment scores a 3/5 from me.

This episode stands out as the finest in the series to date. It offers a riveting peek into the world of antique shows, making it feel even more vivid. In another part of the story, Jean and Caron’s confrontation adds an exciting twist; they’ve never had issues before. Simultaneously, Dom struggles with feelings of jealousy towards Jean’s showbiz friends. Although the mystery isn’t as gripping as previous ones, the exploration and character growth are particularly engaging. (4/5)

With a fresh case at hand, they team up as Jean and Caron examine an assault on a man intending to peddle a jeweled eagle ornament.
