Beyond revealing a demo for “Hell is Us” along with its system specifications, the creators at Rogue Factor have additionally clarified the game’s difficulty settings. Initially, you’ll find three combat modes (Easy-going, Moderate, and Brutal) that influence enemy health, damage inflicted, and aggression level.
Each one can be adjusted individually, allowing you to choose between tougher opponents who deal less damage or ones with devastating blows but minimal health. A key feature is the Death Penalty. When activated, this transforms the game into a Souls-like experience with an intriguing twist.
Upon your demise, any defeated adversaries and the Experience Points (XP) amassed since your last save will be forfeited. However, it’s debatable whether you can reclaim the XP from the spot where you perished. It remains uncertain if this rule applies universally to all XP or if a single death could potentially reduce your level back to one.
Today at 4 PM UTC, you can catch the live debut of our demo on your personal computer. Meanwhile, “Hell is Us” officially releases on September 4th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms.
