Thor is DEAD! Marvel’s BIGGEST Twist Revealed

In the upcoming issue #25 of “Immortal Thor,” due in July, the series comes to an end with a climactic storyline titled “Death of the Immortal Thor.” This suggests that Thor, the mighty God of Thunder, meets his demise. Yet, it’s not easy to keep a deity like Thor down for long. Marvel hinted that writer Al Ewing has further plans for Thor, and we now know that a new series titled “Thor” will debut in August. However, there seems to be a larger enigma unfolding as well.

In August, Al Ewing and artist Pasqual Ferry are bringing us #1 issue of Thor, both having a rich background with the Thunder God. Previously, Ferry worked alongside writer Matt Fraction on a popular run of Thor in the 2010s. This comic abandons the “Immortal” title as Marvel hints at a significant change in Ewing’s storyline, establishing an engaging new phase for the Son of Odin.

From the debut of ‘Immortal Thor’, the storyline for Thor has been leading towards his conclusion, but this was merely Act One according to Ewing. As we move forward into a new phase, Thor encounters perils he’s never known before, in realms unknown… until now. Is he alive or dead? Immortal or something greater? The answers lie ahead; make sure to stick around and find out.

In the introduction of Thor #1, a puzzle is posed about what transpired following Thor’s demise. A shadowy figure treads among bustling city folk, hinting at his transformation into an ordinary human being, much like when Donald Blake served as Thor’s host. The silhouette bears the phrase “A Legend Lives Among Us…”

Or in a more conversational tone:

The first issue of Thor presents a question about what occurred after Thor passed away. A figure shrouded in darkness can be seen wandering among citizens on a crowded street, suggesting that he’s now living as an ordinary human being, reminiscent of when Donald Blake took on the role of Thor. This mysterious figure displays the words “A Legend Walks Among Us…” on it.

Lately, as a die-hard fan of Immortal Thor, I’ve been captivated by the storylines that delve into the mortality concerns of this divine being, even though he’s a god. The narrative has also brought forth an intriguing array of characters who might inherit his mantle someday. It’s been thrilling to see various iterations of Thor and the return of his son, Magni, from another reality, opening up numerous possibilities for the series post the foretold demise of the Thunder God.

It’s intriguing to find out what Al Ewing and Pasqual Ferry have in store for us in the latest instalment of Thor. Previously, we’ve witnessed a human taking on the role of Thor, but based on what we know so far, this seems to be an entirely fresh concept that hasn’t been explored in Thor’s 60+ year run.
