On Monday, June 2nd, 2025 at 2:30pm: The game “Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time” has surpassed 800,000 sales globally, an increase of approximately 300,000 units in the last week. Developer Level-5 predicts that it will reach one million units sold by the end of June.
Level-5 has experienced a significant triumph after spending some time away from the limelight during the last couple of years.
Although we’re yet to determine the exact number of copies sold on the PS5, initial estimates by Famitsu suggest that Sony’s system managed approximately 10,000 sales during its launch, while the Nintendo Switch version surpassed 80,000 units. This is not surprising in Japan, and these figures only account for physical sales at retail stores.
The game is also performing exceptionally on personal computers. However, since it’s also gaining popularity on the PC platform, it’s likely that PlayStation 5 sales are making up just a fraction of its total earnings.
Previously, the game Fantasy Life was only available on Nintendo 3DS. However, it seems that Level-5’s decision to release its sequel on multiple platforms is proving to be a smart move.
After much anticipation since the renowned developer last released a game other than Megaton Musashi more than six years ago, it’s been officially announced that the game Fantasy Life I: The Girl Who Steals Time has sold over half a million copies.
With sales data dispersed across various channels, it’s clear that the game has garnered a significant following. Specifically, it boasted 60,000 peak concurrent players on Steam this weekend, outperforming other popular recent launches such as DOOM: The Dark Ages.
The Japanese studio has shared some exciting news – they plan to release additional content for their game, free of charge, as a tribute to its worldwide popularity. This update will feature new recipes and unique content specifically tailored for high-rarity weapons.
These developments are indicative of a resurgence at Level-5, as they also have other forthcoming projects like Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road and DECAPOLICE in the pipeline.
