Seann William Scott Gets Huge Pay Boost for Shifting Gears Season 2 Amid Divorce Drama

Among the most surprising developments this year, particularly when considering the 2025 TV lineup, is the impressive audience draw of Tim Allen and Kat Dennings’ new network sitcom, “Shifting Gears.” The show’s swift success prompted ABC to approve a second season renewal rather hastily, even amidst whispers suggesting otherwise. Interestingly, it was recently disclosed through a court filing related to his divorce that co-star Seann William Scott secured an unexpectedly significant salary boost.

Despite his television career flourishing now, Scott is presently dealing with post-divorce matters as he and ex-wife Olivia Korenberg work towards resolving some issues, such as child custody and support agreements. Although their divorce was legally finalized in May 2024 following the initial filing in February 2024, Korenberg petitioned the court again in May 2025 to adjust the agreement, alleging that Scott was trying to evict her and their daughter from a house he had previously agreed they could live in.

In response to her statements, as reported by InTouch, I, Seann William Scott, submitted a motion on May 28th to dismiss certain assertions by Korenberg that were considered hearsay. This court filing unveiled the boost in my earnings for the show Shifting Gears.

How Much Seann William Scott’s Season 2 Pay Raise Amounts To For Shifting Gears

In February 2025, Seann William Scott testified in court that he earned $900,000 for his work during Season 1 of Shifting Gears, which equates to approximately $90,000 per episode. However, the actor revised his financial details and expenditures, suggesting that his salary will be significantly increased for Season 2.

If there are no commission fees, Scott is expected to earn approximately $250,000 per episode in Season 2. Given that ABC might stick with ten episodes for the sophomore season, Scott would earn a substantial $2.5 million – a significant jump from his previous earnings of $900,000. However, whether or not I’d be content with the lower pay is irrelevant. If ABC chooses to extend the season to 18-23 episodes, Scott would have even more reasons to rejoice.

Quite impressive, considering that his debut performance as Stifler in American Pie brought him just $8,000, wouldn’t you agree?

In the recent submission, it is stated that Olivia Korenberg argues that Scott intends to evict them from his Malibu property which they have been residing in and renovating since April 2024, under the assumption that they would be living there for an extended period. She alleges that she informed Scott about her new partner in November 2024, and mentioned introducing him to their daughter, only to have Scott change his mind less than a month later, expressing his intention to sell the house. According to Korenberg, Scott demanded they vacate the premises by June 30, and she claims that they have no alternative housing arrangements available.

I, Olivia Korenberg, am asking the court to adjust Scott’s current child support payments, increasing them beyond the existing $6,000 per month. Additionally, I am petitioning the court for financial assistance to cover my legal expenses amounting to $75,000 and accounting fees totaling $50,000.

Following a failed attempt at mediation on May 27, a hearing has been scheduled for June 2025.

According to Sean William Scott’s personal amendment to the paperwork, it appears that filming for the second season of “Shifting Gears” is set to start in August 2025. This means we might find out soon what happens next with Eve, the character played by Jenna Elfman, after the shocking ending of Season 1.
