As a proud alumnus of McCollum High School, rooted in the heart of San Antonio, I found myself staying put to care for my dear mother. In an interview with My San Antonio back in 2011, I shared this commitment to my city. However, when it comes to my acting ventures, Los Angeles has become my temporary home away from home.
He first became a part of “King of the Hill” during its second season, lending his voice to the character John Redcorn until the show’s final season in 2009. Moreover, he has voiced the role once more for the series’ upcoming reboot, as reported by Variety.
Originally from Texas, this individual additionally portrayed the character of Wamapoke tribal elder Ken Hotate in several episodes of the show “Parks and Recreation.” He made his first appearance in the third season, and was featured in five episodes throughout the series’ run.
In 2014, Joss playfully compared Ken Hotate to the character ‘The Wolf’ from Pulp Fiction, saying that he’s someone you call upon when you need help.
He mentioned that working alongside Amy Poehler was a “wish come true,” using his words, “It felt akin to being beside Lucille Ball.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my admiration for the multitalented Joss! Not only has he graced the screen in timeless classics like “True Grit,” “Friday Night Lights,” and “The Walking Dead,” but his creative spirit extends beyond acting.
In a tribute to his beloved character, Red Forman from “King of the Hill,” Joss crafted a line of spice rubs called Redcorn Rub. This wasn’t just an entrepreneurial venture; it was a source of pride for both his cherished character and his hometown, San Antonio. It’s amazing to see such dedication and love for one’s roots!
In 2011, he shared with My San Antonio that he takes pride in his roots on the South Side and considers himself as a successful individual who came from there.
