Microsoft just made Sora AI video generation free via new Bing Video Creator

Microsoft recently unveiled a fresh Bing feature called “Bing Video Creator.” This innovative tool uses your descriptions to generate videos with the help of AI. The power behind it comes from Sora, an intelligent text-to-video model that’s been well-liked by ChatGPT users for quite some time now.

Microsoft’s Bing Video Creator takes your text ideas and turns them into quick videos for you. Simply explain what you imagine, and witness your concept become reality.”

In the blog post introducing this new feature, Microsoft emphasizes that, “Bing Video Creator symbolizes our mission to make AI-generated video creation available to all. We’re dedicated to ensuring creativity is simple and accessible, empowering you to fulfill your quest for answers.

The tool appears quite user-friendly. Just launch the Bing application, opt for the video creation feature, and specify the type of video you prefer. After that, Bing will briefly work on your request before producing the video with Sora.

It’s interesting to note that the company claims Bing Video Creator is available at no cost, whereas Sora typically requires a monthly fee of at least $20 through an OpenAI ChatGPT Plus subscription. Microsoft hasn’t disclosed any specific restrictions for using Bing Video Creator freely, but it’s reasonable to anticipate limitations in terms of resolution and video length.

Starting today, you can access Bing Video Creator through the Bing app on both Android and iOS devices. In the near future, it will also be available on PCs directly from the Bing website.

It’s interesting to note that the functionality isn’t yet incorporated in Microsoft’s Copilot AI, which is primarily used for AI features in Bing. While some might speculate that this move aims to boost usage of the Bing app and service, it’s certainly inconvenient that it’s not accessible through Copilot at the moment.
