The journal can be found within the adjacent room to the Character Selection altar. Upon accessing it, each character’s first chapter is already unlocked, but further chapters will only become available as players gather memory fragments.

Successfully finishing the expedition and overcoming the Nightlord ultimately ensures a memory fragment will be obtained when playing as Wylder. Yet, it’s also possible to receive a memory fragment during the early stages of the questline, even if the expedition isn’t successful.

During your journey, you may acquire a memory fragment without realizing it. You can only discover this upon your return to Roundtable Hold. If you see a “‘Memory Fragment Found’” message at the bottom right of your screen, it indicates that a new chapter has been unlocked in the journal associated with the relevant character.

Wylder’s Remembrance Questline

Chapter 3

As a devoted fan, when I secure my first memory fragment alongside Wylder, his journal automatically unlocks Chapters 2 and 3 for me! The third chapter provides an opportunity to re-experience a precious moment, which lets me teleport back to Roundtable Hold within a fresh timeline.

Speak with the individual named Iron Menial who is in the room adjacent to where the journal is kept, and respond to him with “Got it.” Now, you are assigned to locate a whetstone. Initiate one of your expeditions and journey into the game’s realm. Once you’ve arrived, your map will display a marker in orange, indicating the spot where your personal objective lies.

The whetstone can be found deep within a cave system. At the entrance of this cave, you’ll find two bright orange markers to guide your way. Remember that a formidable boss creature lies within the cave, so if you feel under-prepared, consider leveling up before venturing inside. Upon entering the cave, use your map and toggle between layers to precisely pinpoint the whetstone’s location. Prior to obtaining the item, you’ll have to overcome a challenging foe known as a Tunnel Crystalian. This battle may prove difficult due to the confined space and the enemy’s swift movements. However, Wylder’s ultimate ability could be crucial in securing victory.

To advance any further along the Wylder’s questline, it is necessary that you first gain control of Duchess as a playable character.

After overcoming the boss, secure the whetstone and the subsequent parts of the journey are irrelevant for your quest’s progress. Therefore, if your goal is to advance in the storyline, allow yourself to lose the battle during the expedition to find your way back to Roundtable Hold. Remember that even a successful completion won’t yield a memory fragment since this is an expedition within a remembrance.

Upon your return to Roundtable Hold, engage in conversation with Iron Menial who will provide you with three items: 2 Delicate Burning Scenes relics and a Mended Earring. Collect all these items. The Mended Earring once belonged to the Duchess or Priestess, but before returning it to her, you must shine light through it. To do this, make your way down the same corridor as Iron Menial towards the room at its end. In that room, you will notice a beam of light in one corner. Interact with the light source to progress further in the questline.

In simple terms, go talk to the Duchess or Priestess in the main hall and give her back the earring. When you’re done, a gate will appear near her that marks the end of this chapter. Once you’re back in the present, you’ll receive the Slate Whetstone relic as a reward.

Chapter 5

Finishing Chapter 3 grants immediate access to Chapter 5 without requiring any additional pieces of information. To proceed further in Wylder’s storyline, activate Chapter 5 now.

Upon reappearing, make your way to the chamber housing Merchant Jar. In this area, there are three letters illuminated by a soft, shimmering silver glow that you should inspect carefully. Once you’ve read all three of these letters, a door somewhere in the structure will open, revealing a hidden room.

In the very same room, you’ll find a stairway stretching downwards to the building’s foundations. At the end of this descent, swivel around and there stands another set of stairs delving deeper underground. This hidden path will lead you to a concealed chamber, but prior to entering, pay attention to the small chest resting at the base of the staircase. Do remember its location for later use. For now, converse with the Iron Menial who resides within this secret room. Additionally, take note of the three stones within the chamber that seem interactive and worth investigating.

Go now to Merchant Jar’s private chamber and chat with the woman known as Recluse. Respond to her with “Yes, it does.” Once your discussion is over, speak with her again. After that, approach Iron Menial who is stationed next to the Relic Rite in the central hall. This time he will assign you a mission: find a Silver Tear. Begin a fresh journey and make your way towards the marker on the map.

Navigating to your quest goal might involve some tricky terrain and hostile foes, making it wise to level up a bit before tackling the castle. The Silver Tear is protected by a Mimic Troll, but don’t let its large form intimidate you – this encounter is relatively simple. Given its sluggish speed, you can easily dodge its attacks and deliver yours. Just be cautious about lingering near its feet.

“Following your victory over the Mimic Troll, retrieve the Silver Tear and make your way back to the Roundtable Hold. Pay another visit to Iron Menial in his usual spot before concluding this memory.

Completing this task will conclude Wylder’s journey, rewarding you with his “Remembrance” appearance and also bestowing upon you the “Silver Tear” artifact.
